Most controversial songs

Postby stillmatic » Mar 4th, '11, 09:27

What do you think is the most controversial song in hip hop history?

I mean I can see people saying songs like Kim, and that's definietely up there, but to me it doesn't have the influence in terms causing people to act in particular ways, like some of the stuff the NWA members did.

My nomination is this:

Ice Cube - Black Korea

47 seconds that caused more controversy and violence than any song ever made.
The New York Times - "Lloyd Banks may have stealthily become the most important rapper in New York".

I'll say Ras Kass - Nature Of The Threat

I can imagine Black Steel In The Hour of Chaos causing some stir when it dropped too!

That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael

You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas; see Caesar, see Brutus

Tim Dog. That song is hilarious, he honestly killed Dre and Eazy.

lol I saw Tim open for Kool Keith a few years a go in the X and obviously he didn't perform that song, but towards the end of his set he talked about it and said as much he didn't regret making it because he was a man and that's how he felt at the time, he said he misses those days because at least the LA n1ggas were real OGS making real music as opposed to the actors dominating todays music. He also made sure to do a Tupac tribute, because he said 'Pac saved his life countless times when he headed to LA to perform shows or just for business.

Kim is still probably the most controversial rap song ever written. Think about what is being acted out in the song. In the time the song came out, nothing like that had EVER been put out on mainstream before.

Shit I forgot all about Kim :o

@VenomBlackViper: Snoop's "Murder Was The Case" video caused a lot of controversy, as far as I know the director of that video is still unamed, and with the selling his soul to devil theme and stuff - there's so much mystic about that whole song

Cause the shit I hear is crazy
But your either getting lazy or you don't believe in you no more
Seems like your own opinions, not one you can form
Cant make a decision you keep questioning yourself
Second guessing and its almost like your begging for my help
