Also, any album that features Rick Ross twice can never be considered classic.

Yeah, ignore the fact he murdered his verses.

You're right, MBDTF can never be considered a classic!

You call his half a verse and full verse murdering it? Maybe for Rick Ross standards.

IMO it's simply not good enough to be considered any where near a classic. It's a decent listen, but overall it's extremely overrated.

Listen to the words he rhymes on "all of the lights" for example. Dead, bread, etc. it's full of nursery rhymes

This. There's really nothing on the album I would change. He doesn't have to have amazing lyrical skills to tell the story he tells.

Which could someone tell me the story of the album? I understand bits and pieces, mostly the second half.

If it is really to be a classic, either musical or rap specificaly is hard to tell yet. But!!! worth to mention. If this would be another very lyrical album with raw beats, it would definately not be. Making another illmatic, ready to die, road to the riches or whatever, would not make it very original. This is something really new and original which really gives it bonus points towards being a classic.

Getting 11 artists on a track and make it sound THAT good... :worship:

LOVE that track. (with its "clichéd" "nursery rhyme" "few" lyrics). Awesome

I'll never understand people who consider it a classic. No great album has ever had songwriting that bad. The production is easily a 10/10 but the songwriting is quite average so it's only a solid album any day of the week for me.

The above is my opinion.

However, for me even the production is about an 8/10.

It just doesn't connect with me homie.

When someone says to me the production is classic, I never say you're wrong, because I can acknowledge that a lot of people would find that to be superb. But for me personally, it just didn't hit the spot.

I'll explain so as to not come off as just as a hater. For example, for every ridiculous beat like 'Power' or 'Runaway' or 'Gorgeous', there's beats like 'All of the lights' where it just sounds unfinished and distorted or beats like 'Hell of a life' where there's too much happening. Then there's tracks like 'Devil in a new dress' where Rick Ross ruins any great work Kanye conjures up, or the use of autotune in some other tracks.
