The referee decided the outcome of this game.

There are moments that change the game... then there are moments that change football as a game. If that Van Persie red card does not change it (like Lampard's against Germany)... i dont know what will. Absolute disgrace for the referee and the game. :shakehead:

Just saying... Arsenal fans shouldnt look at the Ref though- look at Bendtner. If you dont score such a chance (which he has no ability to according to most Arsenal fans) against Barcelona there is NO WAY you will win.

Arsenal was not robbed, Van Persie deliberately kicked the ball after the referee blew his whistle, he deserved that yellow card.

Lmao, that is ignorant as fuck. The referre did NOT decide the outcome of this game. There's a reason why Barca had more chances than Arsenal. There's a reason for the two goals they scored (not counting the penalty).

Sure, the referee had his bad decisions, but saying he decided the outcome of the game is just ignorant. Barcelona owned Arsenal playing-wise. The goals, was it because of the referee, did he make the goals? Arsenal didn't even manage to score.

And you can't speculate in what would happen if he wasn't sent off. Anything could've happened.

Watch the game again, and look at this picture. The facts speaks for themselves; Barca deserved to win.

Yes i know the statistic, im not denieng their total dominance. Barcelona owned the first half and yes Arsenal were shit, but in the second half the match was going in other direction. I mean Arsenal had just scored a goal, the game was going to open, so the result was unpredictable. But when he sent-off Persie i think everyone knew what was going to be the outcome. Yes we can just speculate what was going to happen if he wasnt sent-off but there is a huge difference from playing with eleven then one man less. Barca didnt get those two goals so easy when Arsenal were with 10 man ot the pitch, just think if Persie was there. He is their key player, (like Messi to Barca) and he can decide matches, like he did in the first game. So i think the referee really played a huge difference in the game.

If van persie was still in the game, you couldn't have bet against him scoring,
Just imagine that chance falling to him and not bentner..

I don't like speculating in what would happen if this or that didn't happen. For example, in the first half there was a situation where Messi deserved a penalty, and the referee was 3-4 meters away, but he didn't blow the whistle. Now I don't remember exactly what happened, but it should had been penalty. Same thing the first match.

Still, I am not going around and thinking of it, because what is done is done.

I agree that the match could have turned out way different if he wasn't sent off, I also agree that the card was a little harsh, but overall Barca had it and deserved it.

Would rather get them in final tbh, is easier to beat Barca in 1 game than over the 2. As many teams have found out..

i think it's actually easier to be beat Barca in a 2leged tie.
The tactics is simple, beat them at home and draw away...but 1st you must have a good defense..

MAN U did it 2008
CHELSEA almost 2009 (if not 4 ref)
INTER did it 2010...

In the first game, Barcelona had a valid Messi goal disallowed for offside and a penalty not given in the first half yesterday.
Van Persie should have been ejected in the first half.

Yeah the referees played a huge difference.

I'm sorry but let me get this into your heads

ARSENAL WERE NOT ROBBED!!!

They were absolutely terrible, pathetic perfomance. Arsene Winger and all the pathetic Arsenal fans who are naive enough to think they have a chance to win lots of major honours are using this ref thing as an excuse for an abysmal perfomance.

Barca were raping them and creating chances them before the red card
Barce were raping them and creating chances after the red card

Arsenal had 10 men behind the ball before the red card
Arsenal had 10 men behind the ball after the red card

Arsenal had ZERO shots before the red card
Arsenal had ZERO shots after the red card

The arrogance of them thinking they would have gone through without that decision is absolutely hilarious.

Van Persie should have been off for the slap on Alves anyway, which would have given them longer with 10 men. Diaby fouled Messi on the line of the box first hald (if it's on the line it counts as inside) but the ref didn't get a penalty.

Seriously Arsenal fans, take of your rose tinted specs and shut the fuck up. Your embarrasing. And it only adds another reason to add you up with Man United to the arrogant fans list. Pathetic babies when they lose to a team who were in another galaxy.

LOL

Maybe there's a slight difference between about 8 wrong penalty decisions and one yellow card when the player who recieved should have been sent off anyway?

Arsenal have gone down in my estimation so much this season. Especially Jack Wilshere and his little tantrums on Twitter. After the 4-4 the amount of excuses was unreal.

I've even got a mate who said he's not paying out on a bet we had because of the ref. Pathetic.

I remeber that situation, i couldnt find a video to re-watch it but im pretty sure there wasnt a penalty

I think this season the only teams that could defeat Barcelona are United and Chelsea, Barca are awlays struggling when they play against English teams, so i hope we draw against them (if we beat Marsellie) and show that they're not unbeatable.
