My 8 Mile Prop

Postby EminemFanWeb » Mar 14th, '11, 22:49

Here is my 8 Mile movie screen-used prop (a pair of nightclub flyers) which were used in the scene of 8 Mile where Wink is handing out flyers to people in the club and to the people who were sitting at Jimmy's table.

There is a red and yellow flyer with DETROIT'S OWN THE HIP HOP SHOP, LEADAZ OF THE FREE WORLD and CONTACT WINK wrote on them.

The flyers came in a resealable bag with a certificate of authenticity. I am happy with the prop but I don't know whether I should keep them in a safe place where they can't get damaged or get them framed with the certificate of authenticity in the frame too.

Awesome, that must be good quality. I only have 8 Mile on DVD and VHS but it's on my list to buy 8 Mile on Blu-Ray and PSP.

Wow that's cool.

On the website that I have a photo of my prop, there is someone who owns a tank top that was worn by Eminem in 8 Mile and it's in a frame. Is that the one you mean?

Where I bought my prop there was also a full outfit that was worn by Britney Murphy in 8 Mile that costed £1000s that was sold (it's probably worth more now if he/she ever sold it since Britney Murphy sadly died in 2009) and there was also a chairback off the 8 Mile directors chair which I should of got but it sold out quickly so I missed out on it.

If you do get them framed, have it professionally done. Be sure the glass is meant for preserving paper quality, it has to be UV resistant and all that jazz. Go to a couple different framing shops and get quotes/opinions. I'd frame it, but it'll probably run you at least $100.

I bought it on a website that sells screen-used props from pretty much any movie you can think of, Saw, Resident Evil, Star Wars... name a movie and they have a prop from. They are located in Los Angeles and London.

Thanks for your advice, I do know a website which specializes in framing memorabilia like this, a leaflet advertising a good website came with the prop.

Check them out and you'll see some good examples of the kind of framing they do:
