Kool G's definitely one of the best. Big Pun & Big L also.

More recently I'd say guys like Elzhi, Crooked I, and Diabolic.

i like pun and l too they on my top 10 list but he brithed they rhyme style.

i did'nt say the pioneers could'nt be surpassed but imo ain't nobody gonna surpass g rap for me im looking for the whole package im looking for somebody spit multi's has complex rhyme schemes who got ill metaphors and wordplay and can write a chorus

There will never be one undisputable greatest lyricist because like dead prez said, every fan listens to Hip-Hop for something different. You may think that Kool G Rap is the greatest lyricist but someone else may abhor him.

My favorite lyricist however is Eminem. I believe he is the most well rounded.

Yeah he's only got amazing multies, word choice, imagery, knowledge, subject matter, flow, passion and concepts.
