Why did Eminem write "Its only fair to warn that I was born with a set of horns" instead of "its only fair to warn I was born with a pair of horns" if he wrote that instead it would've made a way better multi "fair rhymes with pair" did it just manage to slip his mind or something?

No, 'pair of horns' isn't better. It's much more creative to rhyme it with metaphors and it sounds better, sometimes more is less. But honestly, does it matter? It was a freakin freestyle.
