The U.K.

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

But if you look at the XXL freshman list, honestly, it's depressing. Like there isn't any real talent in the US.... But I guess they went with what was marketable. I blame it on the fans, too.

The XXL Freshman List  Jesus Christ Zu you're going to count that as a credible source? You know better new rappers are out there than the mainstream and overhyped ones who make that list.

My problem with UK Emcees is that they're so similar. They aren't nearly as diverse as the US. Logic and Lowkey could switch discographies and I'd have the same opinion on them.

So, just because it's bad it's not a credible source? People actually do listen to that... So it's relevant. They did somehting similar in the UK last month, MTV put together a top ten and it was way better than that XXL shit.

They aren't all similar. Devlin makes a different kind of music, Stylah makes a different kind of music, Akala is versatile, Possessed is a way different category, a lot of grime emcees make way different kind of music.

It's like citing MTV's hottest list.

I can't comment on them because I haven't gave their music enough attention. I like Akala, that song you posted on FB was on my mp3 forever, but Doublethink had really bad/weird production and I couldn't dig it at all.

I disagree, but again, it comes down to the size of the two countries.

The U.S has a major advantage in that respect (diversity) because of the sheer size of it.

Just one state (California) has a population of 37.2 million people

Birmingham is England's "second major city" and has a population of like 1.2 million people lol

Agreed on Doublethink's production. It was.. different. I enjoyed a lot of it, though, but the production was definitely different. Techno-dubstep-rock-esque kind of production. I don't know how to class it honestly.

Definitely UK, seeing as how a group in my top 5 and another rapper in my top 20 are both on there.

I guess not a lot of Latin rap fans here.

Brazil is just as good as any country not named the US.

Krush and Nujabes kick ass, I've been listening to Krush for a while now and oh shit, he's a genius. Missed his performance in Warsaw, I was soooo pissed off.. Haven't heard that much from Nujabes, but he seems good too. Anyways, if I had to choose from your poll.. you mixed rappers with producers, which makes it kinda hard to pick one.

In general, I'd say Germany, France or Poland, but again, the language variety makes it biased. I don't know french, but I like the sound of french rap in general, although the idea of getting excited over something I completely don't understand is quite foolish ;) Germany has quite a few good rappers, but I gotta admit I haven't been into it for a while. As for polish rap, I think it's been going in a right direction lately. We got Termanology and Jeru the Damaja working with polish artists, Jeru is going to perform with one of our rappers this week. The only problem we have is that we're the only country in the world using our language, so no one can understand it, unless they're weird enough to learn it. We got a huge potential though and as much as I was into american rap few years ago, I'm in love with polish rap right now :b:

Canada, U.K. and Germany. Obviously an English speaking rapper i'm gonna get into more than an non-english speaking one.

I'd add a lot of Latin rap aswell
