This :y:

My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is good, but not so good (The College Dropout, Graduation are much better).

Someone wrote that "Kanye is not a sell out like Em". What?! He is producing Justin Bieber and this should be enough!
When he made the wodka commercial, in order to avoid critics, he used a N.E.R.D. song. What a coward!

Everyone STFU about Recovery vs. MBDTF. It's personal opinion, both are great.

In my opinion, Recovery has better individual songs, but MBDTF is a better album. With Recovery, I'll play a random song in the car. With MBDTF, you have to listen to it with headphones front to back to truly appreciate how well it is crafted. If you want sick wordplay and lyrical delivery, it isn't for you. I think a lot of people don't get it's whole concept. I like Kanye's first 3 albums better for just listening on any given day, but MBDTF has a certain attention to detail and application of concepts that I think flies over most peoples' heads. Kanye's lyrics are great on it, they are 100% meaningful and he has great quotables.

He may have some big local followings, IDK, but his most popular mixtape on Datpiff has like 10,000 listens. Not downloads, listens. And it's been uploaded for 4 years. Mac Miller's mixtape from like a week ago has 400,000+ listens and 200,000+ downloads.

Basically, Cashis has the hype of a dead squirrell laying in the middle of the road.

Well, he hasn't blown up yet... Not saying he will, but he can. And I like Cashis. Listen to the whole County Hound Ep, he's good. Ms Jenkins is hella good.

And seriously, if this is gonna be all about the "rap" album (lmao) that Kanye put out vs. Recovery we might as well lock the thread.

Well, I'm gonna continue watching Prison Break :coffee:

I think Eminem's vision alone will make the label something great. He obviously cares more about putting out great albums than making money (although he probably wouldn't mind if his artists made one or two radio friendly tracks). Only problems now are Cashis who is one of most boring rappers I can think of and D12... Well, D12 will sell quite a lot but they aint a group that would stand a chance without Eminem. Kuniva and Swifty make good verses once in a while and the beats are in safe hands thanks to Mr. Porter but they still havn't made anything mind blowing and I refuse to believe they will ever do.

Having said that they are a label for the future and I can only see them go on to become even bigger as long as it is Eminem's sober ears that sign the artists and not some business man. Right now they just need to put out some good albums and regain credibility. They have already shelved too many artists and havn't really done anything significant in years.

D12 will sell nothing, Slaughterhouse will sell nothing, Cashis will sell nothing, Yelawolf will probably have a hit single but I doubt his album will sell much.

Plus, Shady has 0 young guys. Yela, at 31, is the youngest (not including 28 yo Cashis because honestly, who cares?). To put that in perspective, Kanye is the leader/veteran of GOOD and he's only 33. Shady has 0 young talent.

^JK Joell and Budden are both 30, but still no one under 30 except Cashis...
