But, Echo (trademarked ECHO in capitals) is a German music award granted every year by the Deutsche Phono-Akademie (an association of recording companies). Each year's winner is determined by the previous year's sales

It might not be that significant, but afterall it's the most important German award. Germany is like the fourth or fifth music market after US, UK, Japan and maybe France.

I think Germany must be 4th. It's definitely a LOT bigger than France. France get really low sales.
