Which album would have been received better?

Postby CLV22798 » Mar 31st, '11, 15:58

Both Relapse and Recovery have been met with alot of criticism. Either people love it or hate it, neither really have a middle ground to them. I think that has most to do with how the tracklisting has ended up. I listen to both albums but with different tracklistings, and it makes them both sound better to me. These are the ways I listen to both albums:

Relapse

Careful What You Wish For
My Darling
3 AM
My Mom
Insane
Bagpipes From Baghdad
Music Box
Buffalo Bill
We Made You
Hell Breaks Loose
Stay Wide Awake
Must Be The Ganja
Deja Vu
Beautiful
Underground

Recovery

Cold Wind Blows
Almost Famous
Talkin 2 Myself
On Fire
Won't Back Down
WTP
Going Through Changes
Not Afraid
Seduction
So Bad
Space Bound
Love The Way You Lie
Cinderella Man
No Love
25 To Life
You're Never Over

I've tried doing this thread before, and nobody took it seriously. The way I'm asking the question as to which album would have been received better is, if both albums would have been released this way when they first came out. I don't think both would have been criticized as much if they had been like this, especially Relapse. So, let me ask the question again. If both albums would have been released this way, which one would have been better received?

All you did was flip around the track order and add some Refill tracks, that doesn't really change either album.

You honestly think people would have significantly changed their opinions? No...

The order doesn't really matter.I listen to the album and re-arrange them as i want anyway lol.Don't think it would change people's opinions regarding any of them 2.

It's 2011, we live in a iPod / YouTube generation. As much as some artists like to think otherwise, tracklistings (or the order of them) really don't matter these days.

I really don't think it would change anything or anyones opinions.

I think the tracklistings are good the way they are now. I like how each album is set up.

Order actaully does matter, if people (Like Critics) are listening to the whole album in one sitting they are going to listen to it in order, and certain songs sound better when put next to other songs. Some sounds just don't mesh well with each other and an album gets very boring if you put all the filler tracks next to each other.

Sometimes people dont have time to listen to an entire album if they wanna hear one song.

Yeah, I very rarely listen to a whole album of anyone's. I just listen to songs I like or put my iPod on random. I don't think order will change anyone's view of a song.
