...Isn't the rhyming or delivery or imagery...It's the emotion in the writing. The dead feel and emotionless tone in his voice is intentional, because that's how he felt. He felt like a zombie. Like he was just walking around on this earth with a blank stare, confused, and not really living, but just existing.
He literally captures how he was feeling at that time and makes us feel it with him as he recites the story of the downfall we were wondering about for all that time he was gone...I feel for him. It shows weakness, but I can connect to it. This is what I've always liked about Em. Unlike other rappers, he feels...human, even through his music. He speaks to the heart, not the ears.
I can relate to it. I been through it before...
I also really enjoyed the part where he rhymes "room" with "restroom".
