to be honest his lyrics themselves are simplistic at best, but he's got a persona that somehow convinces you that you should overlook them, best example is the first verse of On My Level. he cud spit the whackest shit lyrically and make it sound good. which is what he did with this album to a certain extent. put it like this, i only remember that i never thought "tht shit was ILL!" . he got a great ear for beats tho. I know he's supposed to bring hip hop back but... technically he aint doing shit as far as bringing hip hop to a higher artform. but he definitely not hurting, he still ten times better than all the other shit tht the labels try pushing. I would give it a 6.5/7 out of ten simply because it is supposed to be mindless/party music and he delivers superbly. i wasn't looking to be wowed by any deep meanings cuz tht aint his persona. he found his niche and does it great. i bought his album, day it came out and burned one to it. and it def sounded awesome when i was baked. afterwards tho...it was good, just not as good as i thought it was loll. still, i think his best song is Still Blazin' from Kush & O.J. :smoking:

It had alot of good beats, some bleh beats, his obnoxious laugh is on almost every track, and the way he raps is very Soulja Boy-like. He's lucky he has some multis or else I wouldn't be able to tell them apart.

Great hooks though. 2/5 stars.

Like-able tracks:
When I'm Gone
Fly Solo
The Race
No Sleep
Rooftops

When I'm Gone didn't impress me. The beat was nice, but I swear, half his lines didn't even rhyme.

On My Level sounds like the same damn song as When I'm Gone. Does he have any songs that aren't about smoking and how 'good' he is? Beat is sick though.. Too $hort verse wasn't bad neither.

Black & Yellow is played out and boring now. It wasn't that bad with the first listen, but after that it just got annoying. Beat is nice, but half of the song is just him saying 'black and yellow' over and over again.

Roll Up hook is catchy, the only Wiz song I kinda enjoy at this point. Still just 'eh' though. Not bad for a listen now and then I suppose..

Hopes & Dreams is lame with the same damn content.. :coffee:

Wake Up is boring.. His attempts to be lyrical are laughable. I guess that's why he keeps laughing in the background. Beat is chill though..

He tells you straight up it's nothing new in the intro of The Race. First four lines prove this true. *Sigh* Beat sounds same as the rest. What's the point of the end skit?

Star of the Show still has him rapping about weed, money, etc. I wonder if he can go a song without mentioning any of these? Boredom..

No Sleep is about.. Partying. That's different. *Sarcasm* No weed mentioned.. Oh, nevermind. Damn. Still boring, but probably the best party song on here so far.

Get Your Shit has a nice beat. Holy shit, he isn't rapping about partying? You just had to say something about smoking though huh? He still throws in a lot of the same stuff, bitches and money and shit.. But it's kind of in a different way. And it's not bad. First actual good song so far.

Top Floor is really slow. He is kinda talking to a girl in this, but loses sight halfway it seems. The lyrics and flow just really made me not pay attention that much. Still got the weed too.. Still bores me.

Fly Solo is pretty good. The beat, his flow, the hook. All on point. Lyrics are simple but cool. Oh shit, no weed reference!? None at all! Damn. Good song.

I love the Rooftops beat. Curren$y drops an okay verse. It's still the same damn song most of the album has been, still spittin' the same shit but this one does it okay. Better than No Sleep.

Cameras beat sounds just like half the album did. Content isn't too bad, but lyrics are eh. I think it's strange that both songs he brags on for a while had really sub-par lyrics.

Overall, my opinion is still the same it has been. Wiz is weak. Two decent songs and one catchy hook probably won't get much more attention from me. I know y'all are still gonna love every thing this man does though, sadly. I still don't know why. I'm just gonna stick with the new Lupe album.

SCORE: 3.5/10

Seeing as it hasn't been out for a week yet, I'd say probablty not.

And for everyone complaining about the content, listen to the first lines of the album:

And they say all I rap about is bitches and champagne
You would too if every night you seen the same thing

Wiz isn't fronting like he's dropping knowledge or is some lyrical god, he's just making lifestyle music. I've had this album on replay, it's getting steadily better. I enjoy it, and On My Level is my jam.
