I don't think that people believe the Bible is proof of God.

Anyone can write a book...a collection of books. I'm fairly certain that people don't believe in God due to a bunch of stories that convey a message applying to life. Aesop's Fables or Mother Goose could do those things. A deity isn't necessary for those things.

People believe in God because of the things that happen in their lives. People believe in God because they are taught to believe in God. People believe in God because they feel that there is one.Not because of the existence of the Bible. People believe in the Bible because of God, not the other way around.

These are not things that are explained away by a fat man on YouTube. I'm not saying these things because I'm unsympathetic to your views, I'm saying this because these threads explode into a flame storm of ridiculousness--and I don't think that it's worth it over a topic that is too narrow to encourage any kind of decent discussion.

I'm agnostic, personally. I'm just saying that the Bible is not proof of God--it is the rule book that God sent down for the people, not a historical record proving the existence of God.
