Love the beat, and Nas went in like Kelis offered him make up sex.

It's crazy how Prodigy still has a great voice, even though he fell off a while ago. If only he could still spit like Hell On Earth.

Shut up.

Just because you started consuming all of Mobb Deep's music over a space of few weeks and then latched onto them at their not so best doesn't mean Prodigy fell off.

IF this or that, boo hoo. Accept what he is now, and he's still dope. Stop living in the past. You don't see me cryin' over LL Cool J. Move on.

What, I've been listening to Mobb Deep for more than "a few weeks", and have played the fuck out of Infamous-Murda Muzik (not to mention unreleased shit he has back in the 90s), and yes he fell off miserably. You have to be lying if you think he's anywhere near he once was, yeah I know not all mcs can't be like Black Thought, but he has one of the worst fall offs in rap next to guys like Public Enemy, LL cool J, Ice Cube, Queen Latifah, it's horrific.

Even in this track he was average as fuck, I guess his voice is still dope, but he spits like he has down syndrome now.

That's my point, you overexposed yourself to Mobb Deep and consumed all of their music too quickly, and didn't see them grow (and fall at times) and it put you off. It's like watching all of De Niro's movies over a space of a week and then seeing some of the trash he makes now, of course you're going to think less of him and keep talking about his greatest movies. If you spread everything out and gave yourself time, you'd appreciate them more even if their music wasn't as good as before.

You speak as if Prodigy became Cam'Ron all of a sudden. Seriously, what is this? Dude had one horrible album, and has rejuvenated himself with 3 albums since that are good. Since when he is not allowed recover from a bad album and every rapper in history is?

I also don't know if you're trolling in terms of saying Public Enemy, LL, Latifah and Cube all had downfalls. That's an argument for another day, considering I don't think any of them are what you are saying they are.

It's not even a matter of the fact that "they aren't as good anymore", they just straight fell off. I don't just do this to Mobb Deep, I've listened to a lot of Eminem's old shit, and even now have a hard time listening to his new shit and have been a fan of him for more than a "few months'.

Nas isn't anywhere near his prime anymore, but he still makes enjoyable music now so does Ghostface.

And what, I hate to be the depressive whiny fan that always compares artists to their prime but none of his albums after HNIC were good (and even HNIC was just average to me). And we can't use that he's had a hard time such as being in jail, having sickle cell, losing all his mone as an excuse to why he put out several garbage albums, else we'd have to excuse Eminem's drugged out ass for releasing the shit we all call Encore.

And you don't think the mcs I listed fell off either?

I'm not saying at all you're not a true fan, only a dick would say those sort of things to anyone they barely know, or even know well. I'm just saying straight up, I think you consumed all of their music too quickly, and thus you don't have a real life understanding of their music, by that I mean it's almost as if you expect either greatness, or they're completely crap to you.

If you follow an artist throughout their whole career, you grow with them. The fact that you listened to Mobb Deep's albums in close proximity to each other at a time when they weren't even releasing new music puts doesn't allow for you to appreciate their development, for better or slightly worse.

Music is very much like sports, you cannot expect an artist or an athlete to keep surpassing their previous accomplishments, it just doesn't work like that. The way you're going, you're not going to be listening to any new music other than new albums from brand new artists all the time, and that's just not life.

And no, I don't think any of those artists "fell off", I think they grew and made choices relating to where they saw themselves going in music and life. Ice Cube has children, he's living far away from South Central, he's not gonna be talking about gangbanging and rollin up on motherfuckers when he's grown up and that lifestyle doesn't relate to him at all, LL Cool J made a choice to go down another path because he felt he accomplished everything in his previous lane, and no one should be able to tell him any different, Latifah grew and made a decision that she wished to accomplish different things after she had opened a lane for others and so forth.

I'm actually harsher on artists that I really take a liking to rather than be more lenient. I understand that artists have to develop and can't be stuck within that certain perimeter that they've set themselves in at the start, obviously artists have to grow and change, else their music would get monotnous and stale after a few albums. But it's not even a matter of them "growing up" or "maturing", I truly believe that they just don't make that much enjoyable music anymore.

Masta Ace is a perfect a example of someone who evolved with the times and changed his music, without falling off.

As far as that sports comparison, didn't Eminem get better on his three consecutive album run? Or how about Gangstarr? Or Ghostface, Fishscales was released 10 years after his debut. I'm not expecting them to release classic after classic, obviously that's unrealistic, but I just find them mediocore now. P's voice and natural talent is still there, it just saddens me that his lyrics are just meh now, same for his flow.

As far as those other artists are concerned, it's not the fact they they switched up their styles and rap about different subject matter now, it's that I feel that their music in general is sub par now. Obviously you feel different and I won't able to change your mind on the matter.
