Kanye is not a lyricists like Eminem.. but his lyrics are definitely underrated

His got some songs that are okay, but the rest of his music is like listening to a wasp flying next to your ear and you just want to smack the shit out of it... His delivery is on some Spice Girls shit. Idk but when I listen to most of his songs I get this image of a bald happy man smiling while squinting, talking as if he has a cheese cake shoved behind his gums.....and then I feel sick.

OK, I think he deserves more credit for the fact that he influence the new hybrid breed of hip-hop artists that I enjoy so much. The likes of Wiz Khalifa, Kid Cudi, B.o.B, J.Cole etc etc etc. Not all of them have listed Kanye as an influence but you can tell. He used to have great rhyming and emceeing skills, and trust me he still does. His production ALWAYS has a nice jazzy feel, but always creative, fresh, innovative and clean. He has a nice ear for hooks, and features. Dude runs a great label, and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is as close to a classic that I've heard in a while. He is like Kid Cudi to me, I absolutely love his music and persona but he will never be in my top ten because his lyrics and technicalities aren't up to par. He will go down as a musical legend though.

Since Kanye dropped The College Dropout in 2004, no mainstream (or underground, IMO) rapper has come close to matching the quality, consistency, and quantity of his releases. TBH, every rapper is overrated to an extent by their Stans, but that doesn't take away from their accomplishments.
