I'm sorry...but no. SSLP shady was a fucking menace to society. He rapped about guns, controversial issues, drugs and basically shit to piss everybody off. Relapse shady is a psychotic serial killer and thats about as deep his character gets.

Slim Shady LP
"I'm Shady"
Who came through with two glocks to terrorize your borough (huh?)
Told you how to slap dicks and murder your girl (I did!)
Gave you all the finger and told you to sit and twirl
Sold a billion tapes and still screamed, "Fuck the world!"
(I'm Slim Shady..) so come and kill me while my name's hot
And shoot me twenty-five times in the same spot (Ow!)
I think I got a generation brainwashed
to pop pills and smoke pot til they brains rot (uhh-oh)
Stop they blood flow until they veins clot
I need a pain shot, and a shot of plain scotch
Purple haze and acid raindrops
Spike the punch at the party and drink pop (gulp gulp)
Shaved my armpits and wore a tank top
Bad Boy, I told you that I can't stop
You gotta make em fear you 'fore you make em feel you
So everybody buy my shit or I'ma come and kill you

Relapse
"Medicine Ball"
Welcome to the Slim Shady Mecca, Rebecca
It's the village in New York
Right next to the TriBeCa
That's my sector
Homosexual dissector
Come again, rewind selector
I said nice rectum
I had a vasectomy, Hector
So you can't get pregnant if I buy sex and erect ya'
Hannibal Lecter into guy sex
And I bet ya' I tantalize ya'
And in less than 5 seconds I get ya'
They say once bitten and twice shy will lie
Next to the guy with
Nine ecstasy pills and 5 extra
Boxes of ripped condoms and quantities
Why yes sir
I took the rest of the Lunesta pills from my dresser
That's my kind of vibe, what else should I try, Lester
Drop kicked the bitch before her second trimester
Performed a home-abortion with Dexter then I guess
I'll dig a fetus out with a wire hanger then digest her
walked into a gunfight with a knife to kill you
And cut you so fast when your blood spilled it was still blue
I'll hang you til you dangle and chain you with both ankles
And pull you apart from both angles

Shady stay creative baby, hold your head up, dont you let up ,one bit on these motherfuckin suckas your a soldier get up!

it was, and you're right, especially being like sslp in the idea that he came outta nowhere (cause he was gone for so long), and while the accents i have learned to not hate as much, oi think he did them to fit the beat, but maybe that has nothing to do with it.

Either way, the fact he just did whatever, and some of the content you pointed out geno, was pretty similar, good thoughts :y:

I agree. I also think "Bagpipes from Baghdad" can be listed as an example, too.

It's just a shame he had to use the accent throughout the album.

He shoulda have used his MMLP tone, and scraped a couple of songs (Crack A Bottle, Medicine Ball) and added some tracks like "My Darling," "Careful What You Wish For," and "Things Get Worse" (and a couple Refill tracks) instead, and I think this album would have been amazing.

I wish he would re-record it :flutter:
"This dude doing this interview wants me to spin a few,
Lyrics while I tie my tennis shoes in the nude
A romantic interlude in a livin’ room,
In an inner tube with a dude with a bit of lube
Fuck that I’m sniffin’ glue, sippin' gin & juice,
And a little bit of paint thinner with my dinner too,
You better pay me for my bars like your rent is due,
Now hurry up and finish dude before I finish you."

but thats my opinion.

Some songs have good lyrics but the voice is why i cant listen to it.

No, the accent is what made me like Relapse , Same Song & Dance & Buffalo Bill were epic

Buffalo Bull was amazing.
"Always, you can see him lurkin' in the hallways
Carcasses of Caucasian females in his crawl space
How the hell did he fit 'em all into such a small place
Hide 'em in the wall, well how long will the drywall take?"

On every Eminem album (yes, even Encore) you will ALWAYS be guaranteed a couple of great/amazing songs, and my favs off Relapse are definitely these five;

3 A.M
Same Song & Dance
Stay Wide Awake
Deja Vu
Beautiful

^ Those are the only songs from it that I can imagine still liking in a few years time.

Nothing more to add here

I feel exactly the same way, and my choise of songs will be the same, excluding Same Song

For some reason it's not letting me quote Geno...

But no, he doesn't care about sales...he does, however, care about what his fans think of him. More sales = better reception = he'll probably keep making music that's closer to Recovery than Relapse.

God some of you people have the worst opinions.

Relapse wasn't anything close to SSLP or MMLP. Relapse consisted of stupid and pointless murder fantasies, random lines, horrible accents, and fragmented flows and lyrics. On top of that Relapse didn't hold a candle to SSLP or MMLP lyrically. All he did was just cram his verses full of multis and you people mistake that for lyrical prowess. I hear so many people say how great Stay Wide Awake was and it did have an incredible beat and hook but the lyrics sucked. Just a bunch of pointless ramblings and multi cramming along with an annoying accent.

THIS is impressive use of multis along with wit that actually has a point:

I never knew I.. knew I'd..
have a new house or a new car
A couple years ago I was more poorer than you are
I don't got that bad of a mouth, do I?
Fuck shit ass bitch cunt, shooby-de-doo-wop (what?)
Skibbedy-be-bop, a-Christopher Reeves
Sonny Bono, skis horses and hittin some trees (HEY!)
How many retards'll listen to me
and run up in the school shootin when they're pissed at a
teach-er, her, him, is it you is it them?
"Wasn't me, Slim Shady said to do it again!"
Damn! How much damage can you do with a pen?
Man I'm just as fucked up as you woulda been
if you woulda been, in my shoes, who woulda thought
Slim Shady would be somethin that you woulda bought
that woulda made you get a gun and shoot at a cop
I just said it - I ain't know if you'd do it or not

I hope his next album goes back to this style.

That or a re-release with a normal voice.
