If you meant post 2004 than you might have a point if you mean in general than no.

Black Thought
Ghostface
Insight (underground and rather obscure but he's had a solid disco this decade)
K-os (yes k-os)

If you're talking about mainstream figureheads only post 04 than yeah he is the most consistant, though it kinda limits the choices A LOT so...

Like some of his songs, MBDTF had some nice tracks but to be honest he just doesn't suit my style of hip hop. I fell in love with hip hop when my brother would play Illmatic, infamous and MMLP. Heck as I write this I got Affirmative Action by NaS bumping. Kanye just doesn't suit my style of hip hop.

Having said that I can appreciate Kanye as an artist and he has sent hip hop to a new direction which future artists can follow. & He deserves respect it is not like he is giving hip hop a bad name like many of the mainstream artists. I'm just generally more into Raw lyrical hip hop.

TBH, every rapper is overrated to an extent by their Stans, but that doesn't take away from their accomplishments.
Here are some of the most popular rappers' 2004-on discographies:

Kanye
The College Dropout
Late Registration
Graduation
808's and Heartbreak
MBDTF

Eminem
Encore
Relapse
Recovery

Jay-Z
Kingdom Come
American Gangster
B3

Lil Wayne
Tha Carter
Tha Carter II
Tha Carter III
Rebirth
IANAHB

What about Re-Up, Curtain call, Relapse Refill, D12 world?
On personal opinion, I'd take Eminem's 2004+ over Kanye's albums. Kanye has got some good songs, i liked his earlier stuff, but he is overrated, his last album isnt even as good as people make it out t be.

I've always liked Kanye, I was quite a fan from Late Registration up to Graduation, but 808s was an abomination and from then onwards he seems to have turned into this pretentious dickwad who thinks he's some kind of Picasso of rap, when in reality, while My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is certainly unique, it really aint as groundbreaking as everyone's making out.

^ I dont really like MBDTF, its overrated. Paper Trail is a very good album, much better than at least the last 3 Kanye albums.

Kanye is awesome to listen to very enjoyable, but i never get why people say Jesus Walks is his biggest song?? I can think of quite a few that are more popular, Stronger, Gold Digger etc..

Maybe since 04 but SSLP, MMLP, TES, The Black Album, Blueprint 1, Reasonable Doubt, and In My lifetime Vol 1, 2, 3 ALL shit on Kanye's discography. And IMO The Carter series > Kanye except Graduation and The College Dropout. And those are about equal IMO. And I'd take Relapse and Recovery over everything except The College Dropout.

MY BEAUTIFUL DARK TWISTED FANTASY was one of the best mainstream albums from my generation that I've heard, and easily my favorite album from 2010.

Lyrically, Kanye doesn't try to boast like other rappers, he's just sincere & well aware of his weaknesses, but loves himself anyways. And you gotta love him too, the man has a charm.

I agree that Kanye isn't a great RAPPER, but doubtlessly one of the best producers of all time, and he was smart enough to collaborate with the hottest artists out there, not to mention that even the spotty ones (like Rick Ross) really stepped their game up for this album and gave amazing contributions.

See before this album I was never a big fan of the dude, and I didn't believe he could make a perfect album, but he did. The whole way through, every track for me is great.
