Since when lmao? because it was only a few pages back you said:
Relapse sucks, none of his good verses of that time period were on that album except for the second half of the second verse of 3 AM
I don't actually think it sucks...I just said that for the sake of the conversation. Even though none of the best verses of that time period were on Relapse.
I think Relapse is a good album, nothing great but he has pretty decent lyricism at times. I'd probably give it a 6.5/10

You were one of the fans who didn't like it.
Therefore, you are the reason for Recovery, which you hate.
Which means you hate yourself

Win.

Yeah well, some of his fans didn't.
Seemed pretty split down the middle for me. A shame that the ones who dislike things are the ones he listens to. Not that he should listen to fucking anybody.
Such a waste of time being an artist, to have other people's opinions shape your work.
And such an immediate, out of character contradiction and shocking hypocrisy to do that after he came out with Relapse publicly stating he's gonna just "NOT GIVE A FUCK what ANYBODY" says again, and just do what he wants.
Then he listens to sappy children who want to cut their wrists to his tedious life story rhymes again, scraps what was probably the most powerful material since The Marshall Mathers LP and then tries to play his bitching out of a vision as a revelation from 'waking up' in sobriety lmao.
Despite the fact he'd been sober a fucking year by the time he even put Relapse out, and to be able to write as meticulously as he did on Relapse and claim he was anything other than sober, focused and totally knowing of everything is absurd.
I think you're downplaying the fact that he did look at Relapse and think, "this accent thing is silly. That's not me."
It happens all the time. People make something that they like and then realize a couple months after that it's flawed.

That's not a fact.
Neither of us can truly prove his motive here.
That's what he claimed happened, but... he also claimed he was falling back on the serial-killing shit etc. despite the fact he still says psycho things for the sake of it now AND - he said that Relapse was a kind of "punchline" album where you listen once and the joke's over...
So, I don't think he's the best guy to talk about his own music lmao. As, Relapse is anything but that. I think he calls punchlines anything which is intended to be tongue-in-cheek but Recovery is choc-full with punchlines, he's been going overboard with it since.
And, I think the accent thing is really missing the point anyway. It's just a flow man. And there's quite a few different 'accents' on Relapse, and I don't see how it's silly. He's in character, it's just a preference if it sounds good to you or not.
But, what he truly threw away was... his content, his new style and... traded that for shitty production and sampled hooks. And re-tread emotion and, he even went back to 'boo-hoo' life tales after he specifically said with Relapse that's the reason he DIDN'T do that.
It's pretty obvious he's lying about "waking up" and realizing he needed to put emotion back into his music. Because from day one of returning, he said he wanted to avoid that as it was self-loathing etc. so he was totally conscious of what he was doing. He wasn't slap-happy or in a buzz.
But then as soon as people disliked the new direction, he bowed to the pressue and went with emotion. Everybody loved "Beautiful" so that's why = Recovery. Looks to me like "Beautiful" was a back-up track he put on there, so that if they hate the new material but love that, go with that. What is "Beautiful"? it's a rock-sampled emotional rap ballad. Sound familiar?
He's very calculated. I think he's constantly thinking of ways out of something fails and ways to explain his new actions lmao.
He's pretty much a compulsive liar when you look at a lot of it. It's like he does whatever he needs to do, to be successful and then says whatever he needs to say to seem authentic or make the action seem genuine and from the heart.
