For You Recovery Haters

Postby Wreck » Apr 9th, '11, 03:47

Why do you hate it? More poppy then his past albums? Don't like the tracks on it period?

I'm just curious. I think it's a great album front to back, and a great artist reinvents themselves, and that's what Em did on this album. 10 albums about raping your mother just gets old.

Low, Down, Dirty is an under-appreciated song. I'd kill Master Chief to see him perform it live for nostalgia's sake.

haha, aight.

he (lyrically) downgraded himself by using less multies and using allot of corny punchlines (not all of them). he picked awful beats to rap on and did one to many love songs imo. his flow was (at times) choppy as hell and the yelling wasn't to pleasant for my ears if the truth be told.

the rest is topnotch :y:

btw, I don't hate recovery. I just don't like it as much as his other albums... yes, even encore.

multies are good but they don't even compare to punchlines, so I disagree there, and I consider myself a multis rapper, so yeah. I disagree about the awful beats, I can name some ok beats on MMLP, and on Encore, etc.

And about the love songs, that's what I mean by reinventing himself. Talking about the same shit gets old.

Corny Punchlines, average beats and some bad choruses.

I don't hate Recovery though.

multies are good but they don't even compare to having "good" punchlines..

but in all seriousness, if a rapper had the illest punchlines and wordplay but no multies, just ABC rhymes. I wouldn't listen to him. dude would've picked the wrong career and needs to be a comedian.

beats are subjective I guess then. but one thing is certain, not afraid.. you're never over and no love are just awful IMHO

his no love verse...for people who think he isn't as good :shakehead:

recovery was dope, very different than all his previous albums for a lot of reasons, but people seem to forget the mans 38, he isnt gunna be the same as he was back on the mmlp at 27 :sweating:

so a rapper has to have punchlines and wordplay to be a rapper? what about artists that don't do any of the 3, like umm, idk, maybe Nas.

And I could give a fuck about the beats, you guys are so anal about the stupidest sh*t sometimes. not afraid had a terrible, simple beat, but the motivational song that it was, made it great.

The main thing I dislike about the album is the beats, Not a single memorable beat on there which makes the songs (excluding the ones played on the radio 1 million times) less memorable for me.

On Fire is absolutely fantastic in regards to multi's. Going Through Changes is also very well written, take a look at the fourth verse.

There's also Cold Wind Blows, Almost Famous, So Bad, Untitled, You're Never Over, LTWYL.. among overs.

Recovery was a very well written album which seems to go over a lot of people's heads.

This plus a sloppy flow and annoying delivery.

I don't hate it though.

This, I also liked his old style way better but obviously it isn't coming back after 10 years. However he's still pretty good nowadays so I still listen to him, his old shit is just way better.
