Most quintessential Hip Hop Album

Yeah I love producer Hip Hop albums , especially Nujabes' music, speicfically Metaphorical Music.

^ He was that japanese producer, right? I checked him out on youtube after I saw his name pop up in some thread here, I liked it. Was going to get some albums, but I simply forgot to look haha, give me some more titles so I could check them out.

I also like Krush, mixing traditional japanese music with hip hop > * For real, there's nothing better when you want just chill out.

Half of the songs on Relapse are better then all of Talib Kweli's songs when it comes to multis. I'm sorry but that's something Relapse cannot be criticized for.

Stay Wide Awake, for example, is a song that demolishes a good portion of songs (multi-wise).

Apart from nothing special, there is absolutely nothing special that I could've noticed about 'Relapse'. Ok, multis are good, but I've heard better from Eminem. Plus like you said, it's about quantity, not the quality, sadly. And all Kweli's albums > 'Relapse', at least for me. You should definitely check him out 'Quality' is A-fucking-MAZING.him.

Yeah, I understand, I was just saying that rhyming/multis is Relapse's forte and that it's basically the main reason for appraisal.

I know there are more but that's all I can think of.

Well that was really the only Nujabes album I listened to, but if you want a similar sounding album than try Bop Alloy. It has the mc Substantial who was heavily featured in Metaphorical Music, and Marcus D who's sound is definitely reminiscint of Nujabes.

The list goes on and on but those above would be a great package for a hip hop-virgin. They all represent and speak to generation of people in their own way.

I don't get the obsession that multis makes the song good lol. Stay Wide Awake is awesome in terms of multis but I prefer half the songs on Relapse over it for pretty much every other aspect.

I like it because of the amazing hook, the haunting beat, the perfect flow, one of the few great accents AND the excellent rhyming/multis.

You can't deny Buffalo Bill/Stay Wide Awake/Same Song & Dance/Medicine Ball/Old Time's Sake and most tracks from Relapse and even eliminated songs "Oh No/Things Get Worse" had some fucking amazing multi's

None of them did except the third verse of buffalo bill

Rule no. 1: Never mention Eminem or accidentally compare an album by him to an album by another artist in the Hip Hop Domain.

For one, Buffalo Bill is about something (killing people/females) so it's somewhat about something. And Cum On Everybody and Role Model are about nothing yet those songs get praised. Now, about the accent yeah it is easier but he used it to his advantage so whatever. I like the accent in BB so I don't mind.

For the rest of 'em I don't feel like arguing for but the same would apply for them, I guess.

Whatever this thread isn't about Eminem so I'll just leave it at that.
