Looking Up Lyrics To Songs

Postby _Steven_ » Apr 10th, '11, 05:05

Completely ruins the song for me. The magic is totally gone and I soon lose interest in the song. I used to memorize verses but that tends to do the same thing.

I don't see why people need to look up lyrics to begin with. Just listen to the song. Simple.

Sometimes I look up lyrics if I can't understand what they're saying

I stopped looking up lyrics about 2 months after I started getting into rap music/Eminem. My ears just got better at listening, I guess.

Sometimes a rapper has an accent that makes some words hard to hear clearly for me as a foreigner so I look them up.

I look up the lyrics and read along with the song sometimes, but only the first few times. I like to make sure that I'm not missing anything, and often, seeing it in words as it's being said helps me to catch everything.

For example, with 2.0 Boys (lol) I didn't catch Joell Ortiz's fifth month/black and yellow insect/maybe line until I saw it written, for some reason. Weird. :confusion:

This. Sometimes I don't need it but sometimes I do, and sometimes i don't even understand the punchlines. But generally, I do.
