Strawman fallacy runs rampant in Eminem section, say experts

Postby dead prez » Apr 10th, '11, 06:11

Trshady- Recently it has been discovered that a widespread disease of lazy assed reasoning have been let loose in the popular Eminem forum, "Trshady". Expert Eminem has stated that the level of acceptence on both sides of the spectrum of this egregious fallacy is quite nauseating. "I'm amazed that so many of my fans who should be discussing my music are caught up on semantics and the like to form their distorted views that they can barely see beyond their peripherals. " A "strawman fallacy" is misconstruing an argument which your opponenet may have in a debate, whether deliberately or subconciously, the bashing of said argument, and thus falsely claiming victory when you have teared down walls they do not hold. "From the tests we have gained, it seems that those who partake in said activity are either dumb as shit or try to weasel their way into victory in the form of a lousy ass argument". Eminem elaborated, " The scary part is that most react to these horrible arguing tactics as accurate portrayals of what said opponenet may have. "It's quite frightening really, I expected a bit more from my loyal posse, I didn't raise them to be this stupid did I?" Apparently the admin staff is quite aware of the shortcomings these subhumans may have, but have taken no further disciplinary action to impede them

Personally I think it's all a set up in a vague conspiracy to let the stans run the site and refuse to let others with actual decent opinions have some influence. I dunno just me.

Best post all week. Hell, all month. :y: :y: :y: :y:

Watch out, though, there's a couple grammatical errors in there. Your argument becomes void when you make typos of any sort.

A great example of this can be seen here where I single-handedly destroy Amadeo and Emineminsider; ultimately leading to them agreeing with my original argument (after the twists and turns of their side-tracking and arguing semantics, of course).

I should have added ad hominems as well but I'd rather save that for another day.

The sources didn't specifiy anyone did they? :shifty:

I'd love to argue but even I admit that I don't possess decent enough knowledge about rhyme schemes and the nitty gritty of the sort to really delve into that argument, though it is fun spectating.

Oh and btw, Nollie still doesn't know what a strawman fallacy is, where he called Block in the Ghostwriting thread when he obviously didn't do any of the sort.

Fighting an argument/claim that was either completely made up in attempts to increase the relevancy of what you're saying -- or skewed to avoid the matter at hand.
