The Roots - The Fire (Live)

This perfomance is so fucking epic - it's great seeing this kind of thing in hip-hop.

Shows that hip-hop doesn't need to be stuck in the box that people seem to create for it - the use of different instruments and their cross-covergence into other genres is so refreshing. I realize The Roots have always been like this but this video just emphasises it.

Best hip-hop group ever.

That's one of the beautiful things about hip hop. You can't really define what it sounds like cus so many genres have influenced it over the years. Rock, soul, jazz, reggae, electro etc. As much as hip hop is a genre and culture, it is also a soul and spirit.

If anyone knows where I can watch Saigon's performance with The Roots from last night, please let me know :y:

That is fucking awesome.

I don't know how, but that sounds better than the version with John Legend!

Seriously, I love watching Jimmy Fallon now. He's cool, but he has The Roots man!! Every night it's something special from them. The one where they did "Straight Outta Compton" with Ice Cube is legendary.

@hiphopdane, it might be on the NBC website homie. Late NIght with Jimmy Fallon videos rarely make it on to youtube.
