LOL @ Block going on and on about "stressed syllables." That has nothing to do with anything. The syllable containing "A" is stressed in "Sudan," too. I guess that means it rhymes with "Kool-aid" in Block's world.

LMAO @ Block saying "I'm debating" and "complicating" don't rhyme, but "afraid" and "scared" DO.

Dude doesn't even understand the concept of what a rhyme is. Pretty sad.

Edit: Wait a minute, it gets even worse. He's talking about STRESSED VOWELS.

The "O" in "complicating" IS stressed, idiot. COM-plicating.

Mocking does not equal trolling. I was serious about the rhymes (so is the dictionary. Use it.)

You lost another argument due to your incompetence in regards to common sense. Poor child. sadface.jpeg

What a PATHETIC comeback. Such a hilariously defeated tone in this post. "It was all a ploy!!!! I was trying to mock u!!!!!" Any time you're blatantly wrong, you try to save face in pathetically transparent ways.

Just admit you got destroyed.

>oh shit block is mocking me and I was too dumb to catch on

Defeated tone? While posting? If that doesn't scream 'desperate', nothing does.
Search my posts for the words stressed and unstressed. They don't show up until I start mocking your dumb ass. Point proven.

You guys already lost multiple times. Sadface.

This is what? The fifth or sixth time I've made you look completely clueless? Try harder. Even attempting to tag team, you still find ways to fail. You guys need a better game plan. Or just give up. Your lack of common sense is astounding.

Why don't you search OUR posts for the word "stressed?" Which one of us obsesses over "stressed" syllables?

Nice try. :flutter:

And you're still hilariously wrong. "Scared" does not rhyme with "AIDS," rap music or not, no matter how you try to spin it. Meanwhile, "I'm debating" and "complicating" clearly do. Pronouncing "I" and "ah" is about as old as time itself.

Nowhere in the dictionary does it say that "scared" and "AIDS" rhyme. Or "scared" and "afraid."

Here, check out this rhyming dictionary: http://www.rhymezone.com/

Go ahead, type "AIDS" or "afraid" in. Amazingly, "scared" doesn't come up. In fact, every single word that comes up has the LONG "A" sound. This is truly shocking.

by that logic, late doesn't rhyme with afraid, either. Wait, assonance? What's that? That doesn't count!

Block wrote:Again, arguing semantics.. And still wrong.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/scared

[skair]

^^ We see that they pronounce it as sk-air, correct? ai is a stressed 'a' sound. Oh, it's not? Wait, wait, wait.. Doesn't the word afraid come stock with an ai already in it? AND THEY HAD THE NERVE TO USE "AI" AS A PRONUNCIATION GUIDE FOR THE WORD YOU SAID DIDN'T STRESS THE SAME SYLLABLES?? THOSE BASTARDS.

Okay, let's look up the word 'air' since they used that in the sample pronunciation.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/air

Definition number 8:
Music .
a. a tune; melody.
b. the soprano or treble part.
c. an aria.
d. Also, ayre. an Elizabethan art song.

Oh, ay isn't a stressed 'a' sound now, either? Okay, let's scroll a little further down the page.

Origins.

Latin āēr- (accusative āerem ) < Greek āer- (stem of āḗr )

OH. You mean those lines? Yeah. It's a stressed 'a' in both words. Even if it wasn't (which it is) The words are seemingly identical when spoken. The only differentiating attribute is that scared has the 'r' sound after the strssed 'a' --and before the 'd' sound--while afraid has the 'd' sound immediately after the stressing of the 'a'.

Again, this is semantics and your arguments were made void after agreeing with me. Good day, faggots.

You lose.
