What I want From Em's Next Album:

Postby FreeSpeech » Apr 14th, '11, 04:06

I want him to drop a crazy experimental album that is a true work of art. By experimental, I don't mean branching out to new producers like Boi 1Da and using punchlines, that isn't really experimental, it's just following a trend. I want an album unlike anything he's done before, sort of a Relapse on steroids. And I don't want it to be about the same stuff he's talked about before, it's kind of played out TBH. I really want him to suprise us all with some strange concept out of the blue. Like, I almost don't want Marshall, Eminem, or Slim Shady on the album. A completely fictional, storytelling album would be sick. Something like Deltron 3030, yet completely different.

The thing about Eminem is he, more or less, follows the same formula every album. He has a couple joke tracks, some emotional ish, some personal statements, and some controversial and motivational songs. I want something completely different. I also don't want any of the beats he's used before. I love Em and Dre beats, and I would love a new album full of the, but I want an experimental album too.

I think this could breathe new life into Em's career and extend it. He could still be making dope music when he's 46 or something if he got real experimental with it.

This isn't a diss to any of his previous work, it's just something I'd love to see.

Oh shit, two similar topics? Call the internet police!

I don't read the Eminem section much anymore, it's gotten stale for the most part. I didn't see his topic, link?

I'm quite open-minded when it comes to music (one of my favourite genres is jazz) but I prefer traditional beats to stuff like Space Bound simply because I feel big production often outshines great lyricism. It is also the kind of hip hop I grew up on so I'm probably biased.

There are tons of great producers in the underground so I hope he'll give them a chance to prove their worth just like The 45 King did in 2000. I'm not caught up in all this "he only chooses radio friendly beats" because that is simply not true. Half of the tracks on Recovery wouldn't stand a chance if they made them singles.
I don't really know where I'm going now but I agree an experiemental album would be great. Original music always stands the test of time because of its influence and relevance.

Lyrically I hope he'll make the exact opposite of what he has done since Recovery (an album I loved). It is obvious to me that writing lines that are meant to be somewhat rebellious and offensive simply isn't what he does best. Writing deep emotional songs like Space Bound and Going Through Changes is what he should stick to although he should maybe search for new lyrical areas instead of talking about his own life all the time.

As I said before, I loved Recovery and still do but he simply lost a lot of repect amongst hip hop fans, and I'm not talking about Billboard worshippers, when he put out something like LTWYL. Lyrics were good but it got overshadowed by the corniest production I can think of. The chorus on Not Afraid didn't do himself any favours either. So I would love if he just went all in on his next album and regained credibility amongst those that hip hop really means the world to. He is a legend of the game strictly because of the stuff he put out in his prime but his image has changed from being a hardcore underground rapper totally misplaced amongst popstars to actually being a bit of popstar. I know people change but stay true. You can still have radio friendly beats without being corny.

1. More songs like On Fire and Cinderella Man ,
2. Give some underground producers a chance (as hhd mentioned) please :coffee:
3. Female singers doing the hook is cool but please not to over do it.
4. Some straight up Hip Hop shit .

I want him to rap about drugs, rape, violence & diss faggy celebs & pop stars. So in other words I want meaningful content unlike that garbage he puts out now about his personal life, who the fuck relates to that anyways?
