BS: Name & Debate 50 Artists Better Than Lupe Fiasco

Dedicated to slimshadylappin and anyone else who wants to join in this debate. This isn't a troll, and this isn't a hate topic, this is pure discussion of one of my favorite artists, Lupe Fiasco, as well as a rival thread to get back for this: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=111635

Kind of a more serious version of the infamous Chit Chat Em-version.

Everybody name a rapper and give a reason why you think he is better than Lupe Fiasco. If we get to 50 rappers, and these are not validly refuted, then Lupe is officially garbage as deemed by the forum's Trilluminati.

Lupe Fiasco is his own unique brand of rapper that excels at everything and is perfect. The only song uninfluenced by Atlantic that I dislike is Go Go Gadjet flow and even that isn't bad. You all can name names like 50 Cent, Kanye West or Eminem but when you do that then you will die a little on the inside.

Diabolic, well since i'm obviously Diabolic I think that i'm a better rapper than Lupe. I'm from the real underground whereas Lupe is signed to Atlantic. I have a better,stronger delivery, I flow over beats better, I don't get female singers on my song hooks, I have better punchlines, I have a better usage of multis & when we do touch on the same subject I do it better.

Tech N9ne. Now, Tech N9ne absolutely rapes Lupe Fiasco. In every department except for metaphors/punchlines. Outside of that... Tech's flow is omg. One of the best at this. No contest. Multis/rhyming? Even less of a contest. Delivery? Tech's delivery is much more strong, clear and passionate. Discography? Everready, K.O.D & Absolute Power are better than F&L, his mixtapes & Lasers. K.O.D is better than The Cool by a good margin.

Well first of all I doubt that Master Chief has listened to Food and Liquor and The Cool as much as Eminem albums so he doesn't notice all the clever lines and rhymes.

Second the SSLP alone has multiple weak tracks that stop it from being anywhere near the caliber of Lupe's first two.

Third Lupe does not just talk about himself. He displays topics from all places. When Eminem decides to not talk about himself he is just bashing celebraties

bashing celebrities does not = good albums
it equals a lazy way to fill up a song.

SSLP has no fillers. If you're referring to Cum On Everybody, then not at all. The song is the weakest song on the album but still a good song.

Lupe's story telling is good, but this guy is just on fucking point. Absolutely one of the greatest story tellers in Hip-Hop. Lupe has wordplay while this guy has a huge variety of metaphorical concepts, vivid imagery, sentence structure and word choice. His flow is more diverse, his delivery is stronger. Unlike Lupe, Slug has been able to consistently switch his style since his debut, and as such, has definitely covered more ground musically. Listen to Lucy Ford, then God Loves Ugly, and then When Life Gives You Lemons. They're all good, but the dude's growth as an artist is amazing. He went from the dark, angsty, energetic almost battle-esque rhymer to a subtle and mature story teller that has covered topics all the way from the troubles of relationship to the faults of society to the struggles of parenting.
