How do people like Sadistik?

I'm listening to The Balancing Act. It's pretty decent musically, but my god his voice sucks. I guess if you just want lyrics, he can be entertaining and good, but his voice just ruins it for me. So boring and average. He sounds like every other white guy to ever try to rap on youtube. To me, having a unique voice is practically a necesitty. I don't like Vinnie paz much, but at leats his voice has energy/chrisma/force.

I love his voice/delivery, but I guess that all comes down to personal preference. I also love how he switches up his flow/tone several times on each song, it keeps his music interesting.

Yes, you do need to have a good voice. It's a big part of rap. If Tupac sounded like Yogi Bear, he wouldn't be nearly as good or listenable. Bummer if you got a bad voice, but that's the way it is.

As for Eminem, he has a crazy unique voice. If he didn't, he would never had made it. Name one single huge rapper (Biggie, 50, Pac, Em, Kanye, even Wayne) who doesn't have a unique voice.

I do respect him, he's a nice musician. The album had a cool sound to it and his lyrics, while not my ideal style, are pretty dope and I don't have any problem with them.

Sadistik would be one of my favorite rappers with enough material, but my main worry about him is that he's going to get repetitive. 2 years later, Art of Dying seemed more like an extension of The Balancing Act than growth.

If he's going to rap in the poetic, dark "I'm different, I have alot of exxes, roses" content for the rest of his career it's just going to get boring. The reason alot of rappers have a running start and slowly descend is because they keep repeating the same style over and over again but can never match the quality of their first albums. Basically his albums need to show more versatility and differentiation from each-other and even though he's only released a single full-length one, I have a feeling he's the type of artist to disregard this.

As for this thread, his voice is almost perfect tbh. I can't think of many other voices that would sound good over Emancipator's atmospheric, hard hitting trip-hop production.
