Pretty much any "classic" from the 80's or 90's not counting a couple.

why u call hopsin overrated? cause of the people on here (including me) that love him alot...

why do i call recovery overrated? same reason

umm no.

i call hopsin overrated because he is an average rip off fluke of a rapper who seems like he just picked up a pen.

recovery is viewed as a good album, nobody considers it a classic or some fuckin groundbreaking shit,it aint overrated.

Seriously why is My Beautiful Twisted Dark Fantasy raved about so much? The production is pretty dope yes but he's not saying anything all that different than typical Kanye fare. And he's certainly not saying anything absolutely ground-breaking.

People started listening to hip hop in 2010, I guess.

Sometimes you regret that you actually took time to write a good post when it just drowns in bullshit.

So...what did you really say with this post besides masking how much you love me? I didn't google this, hiphopdx is the site I always go to for hip-hop news but nice try.

And that is great analogy...Do you know what overrated means?
They rated Recovery a 4...I rate Recovery a 2, therefore in my opinion Recovery is rated OVER where it should be...overrated.

This is like second grade logic.

My Beautiful Twisted Dark Fantasy is a solid GOOD. Maybe a weak great. Like someone said, the production never gets old. The songs are epic. Kanye has a way with words, and is definitely lyrical, albeit differently than the way DA thinks. I think we will look back at MBTDF in 10 years and say it is a classic. Thus, I wouldn't consider it overrated.

Things that are overrated (in my opinion): A lot of "classics," but I think that's just because I didn't grow up in listening to the classics. They still deserve all the credit they get. I consider the classics more for their influence then my personal enjoyment of the style of music, especially when compared to some of today's music. But that's just because the sounds has grown: production is tighter and there a whole slew more rappers. When Wu debuted, they were ahead of their time (and it was good), and that's enough for something to not be overrated (to the general public). Still, I just personally think a lot of it is boring. Some older person who grew up with those albums has every right to think they're amazing. That's part of the reason I'm such a fan of Em: I grew up listening to him.

Classic 90s hip hop albums (Illmatic, All Eyez On Me, 36 Chambers) = overrated, they're good but nowhere near the best i've heard. Argue all that influence shit all you want but to me personally they're overrated. I've heard better lyrics, better beats & better content from newer, less famous rappers.
Recovery = vastly overrated, people talking about "eminemz iz bak on hiz game" no he fucking isn't. Compare the best songs on Recovery to his average songs from SSLP/MMLP/TES & the average songs would outshine Recoverys best. Bad Meets Evil/Who Knew/Square Dance > any Recovery song.
As for MBDTF I listened to it maybe 3 times at the most, only have like 2 songs from it on my iTunes now. I see why it's called a modern day classic though as I only listened to the 90s classic albums the same amount of times, shit I don't even know when was the last time I've listened to a Nas, Tupac or Wu Tang song. So if MBDTF is going to be as overrated in 10 years as "classics" are now than sure it's a classic.
Almost everything named here is overrated.
Rhyme Asylum > Wu Tang
Diabolic > Nas
Hopsin > Tupac
DZK > Biggie
Celph Titled > Jay Z
