8 mile :coffee:
There's people that love me and people that hate me. But it's the evil that made me this backstabbing, deceitful, and shady.

Cradle 2 the Grave was good too
How can hip-hop be dead if Wu-Tang is forever?

Get Rich Or Die Trying was just awful

8 Mile or Notorious probably

Notorious was a big pile of dump. The fact that Puffy was the executive producer meant it was always going to be.

If you're going to do a biographical movie, you're going to need input from a lot of sides rather than one major side controlling the story behind it. The image they gave Biggie in the movie was a pile of shit as well, Tupac was horribly cast (Anthony Mackie is a good actor though), the dude who played Biggie could not be taken seriously considering he was the same dude that shot himself in the ass outside of hot97 (the Jay-Z syllable line is about him), there was no Charlie Balitmore prescence, the image of Lil Kim was bullshit and Lil Cease looked genuinely 12. The only good thing about Notorious was Angela Basset's portrayal of Ms.Wallace.

I'm really not sure if movies like Juice count as hip hop movies either. It's got nothing to do with rap.

Are you serious? Juice was 100% hiphop. It was what rap lyrics of the time were all about, just through film. The movie has them at the record store stealing records, plus the DJing scenes.

Not to mention the soundtrack:
1."Uptown Anthem"- 3:03 (Naughty by Nature)
2."Juice (Know the Ledge)"- 4:00 (Eric B. & Rakim)
3."Is It Good to You"- 4:17 (Teddy Riley & Tammy Lucas)
4."Sex, Money & Murder"- 2:49 (MC Pooh)
5."Nuff Respect"- 2:57 (Big Daddy Kane)
6."So You Want to Be a Gangster"- 4:05 (Too Short)
7."It's Going Down"- 4:12 (EPMD)
8."Don't Be Afraid"- 5:18 (Aaron Hall)
9."He's Gamin' on Ya'"- 3:35 (Salt-n-Pepa)
10."Shoot 'Em Up"- 3:38 (Cypress Hill)
11."Flipside"- 4:24 (Juvenile Committee)
12."What Could Be Better Bitch"- 3:01 (Son of Bazerk)
13."Does Your Man Know About Me"- 5:11 (Rahiem)
14."People Get Ready"- 4:00 (Brand New Heavies & N'Dea Davenport)

If it's got to be about the music, Hustle & Flow. Krush Groove is the #1 though.
Menace II Society. Not too much to do with music, but for hip hop culture it's one of the best.
See Stillmatic's post about Notorious.
That Juice soundtrack is the shit.

Yeah good point. I never saw it that way, even though you explained, it's so blatantly obvious.
