Most viscious disses in hip hop?

Postby FreeSpeech » Apr 24th, '11, 04:48

What diss tracks just go 100% at the opponent? I love Canibitch, but it's not viscious. It's just mocking Canibus. Even the Warning, while dope, is pretty laid back and not nasty.
I want songs that are 100% nasty and angery.

Hit Em Up - Tupac
The Sauce - Eminem
Quitter - Eminem
Girls - Eminem
Ether - Nas
2nd Round KO - Canibus

Cremation is NOT on the level of these songs. Copy has 0 relation to Asher, he just was mad another white dude made it big instead of him. They don't even know each other. There were no personal insults, all Copy did was say Asher sounds like Em and is gay.

It was a horrible move by Copywrite and he just came off as jealous and bitter. You can't have a viscious diss record when you have no real beef.

Hit 'Em Up is a great song and he shows alot of anger, but there is no real personals or anything that, if I was Biggie, would make me say ouch lol.

I see where you're coming from because there's not many but I remember reading that Biggie took the "I fucked your wife" shit straight to the heart.

You want to hear what Biggie's camp thought of that diss?

This is from one of Biggie's best friends and renowned NY hip hop personality and blogger Combat Jack.

"For the record, none of my clients worked on this record, but it was most definitely recorded in response to 'Who Shot Ya' and Junior Mafia's 'Get Money,' and for how 'Pac jacked the melody from the hook from 'Player's Anthem.' On top of continuously taking shots from Tupac, Death Row, and Snoop even, we were growing tired of being the target. No one on our end really knew the source of Tupac's rage, but God damn did he become a beast. The day this song dropped, New York was quiet, like we had got punched in our collective chests. Plain and simple, the record was hot, and the rage that jumped from off the track was very disconcerting. We got calls from our peoples at Bad Boy, from Roc-A-Fella, all talking, wondering how far 'Pac and Suge wanted to take this.

"From my perspective, all we wanted to do was party, bullshit, and make great records, and every time we did, them cats came back swinging hard. When 'Pac yells out 'Fuck you too,' referencing anyone down with Bad Boy, I took that shit personally. Plus, cats started getting kind of annoyed at Big for not responding directly, because we all knew that as a superior lyricist, he would have really bodied Tupac and hurt his feelings. Still, with all that going on, being in the eye of the storm that was the coastal beef, the raw dopeness that is 'Hit 'Em Up' is undeniable. One of the greatest dis records of all time. And in a weird way, it remains one of my favorites."
The New York Times - "Lloyd Banks may have stealthily become the most important rapper in New York".

Da fuck is this shit, just because it doesn't have retarded punchlines poking about how much of a fatass Biggie is, doesn't make it shit by any means. It was straight to the gut viscious and got the message across without having to relying gimmicky lines. It had personals which are by far more important than retarded lines that no one gives a shit about, most specifically

"Biggie remember when I use to let you sleep on the couch
And beg the bitch to let you sleep in the house
Now it's all about Versace
You copied my style">> any retarded punchline that has no relevance other than making you lol for five seconds than pretty much wears off its usefulness.

Ether's overrated, I'll admit but it still deserves some credit. I'll say that it changed Jay z after that, though the diss itself was meh.

Takeover > Ether.

Hit 'Em Up is #1 by far in disses. That's for sure.

Bully & Malcom X deserve a mention.
