The quality of ether is subjective, so I won't bother debating with you about that for the 10th time.

However, it definitely changed Hova, and to this day it still does. Jay had so many skeletons in his closet and so many people he had wronged in such a short time span, and he thought there was no one would come to know about any of this, and Nas exposed him. The hot97 interview with Angie will forever go down in hip hop folklore where Jay was practically crying and in shock over how to Nas attained all this information. Since then, Jay has avoided real beef. You think without Ether, Jay wouldn't have gone up against 50 yet? Jay doesn't wanna go anywhere near 50's mind (skits, personal info, videos etc.) because of what Nas did to him.

Hit 'Em Up is #1 by far in disses. That's for sure.

Bully & Malcom X deserve a mention.

Fuck you, Prez.

"You claim to be a player but I fucked your wife"

And beg the bitch to let you sleep in the house"

"Five shots couldn't drop me
I took it and smiled"

"You're a beat biter
Pac style taker
I'll tell you to face, you ain't nothing shit but a faker"

I'd say Biggie took it personally. Very personally. Pac wasn't bullshitting saying he fucked his wife. And when Pac said basically fuck every Bad Boy rapper, he meant that in the worst way possible. It's not like today where saying "fuck this dude" would be a wack diss. Pac got shot 5 times and still came back and told them to fuck off and genuinely threatened to kill them. And look what happened.

People who realize that the best beefs have been genuine and recognize a real viscious diss. Copy's diss was OK and nice lyrically, but at the end of the day it was just him bitching about Asher being succesful and calling him gay. A great diss could have all 1 syllable rhymes and still be insane, it's the truth behind what you're saying.

But you're a "nerdy little internet hiphop head" so I wouldn't expect you to think tracks like Hit Em Up dominate anything Copy's written.

It was a horrible move by Copywrite and he just came off as jealous and bitter. You can't have a viscious diss record when you have no real beef.

Cremation > Ether

"This dude doing this interview wants me to spin a few,
Lyrics while I tie my tennis shoes in the nude
A romantic interlude in a livin’ room,
In an inner tube with a dude with a bit of lube
Fuck that I’m sniffin’ glue, sippin' gin & juice,
And a little bit of paint thinner with my dinner too,
You better pay me for my bars like your rent is due,
Now hurry up and finish dude before I finish you."

P.S.Ether > Takeover
Others have pretty much mentioned all the disses.

I don't even like Canibus much. 2nd Round KO is a true classic diss. I've already said it, all Cremation is is a bunch of multis and punchlines to say Asher jacked Em's style and is gay (both of which aren't even true). Multis and punchlines don't mean ANYTHING in a diss. They help it musically, but that's not what this thread is about.
Revolutionary wrote:The Copy diss wasn't just a diss to get attention, I am on my iPhone at school so I can't get in depth with you now..,.

Haha what was it for then? Kinda convenient that he dropped it when Asher was the most hyped dude out. They had 0 personal/professional interaction, why diss him for any reason other than to get attention? Asher never did anything to him.

There wasn't any proof that he fucked Big's wife other than the fact that he took a picture with her, but that's pretty it. I doubt they went past second base.

This has shit to do with the actual diss, but more around the actual "beef" that they had.

People who realize that the best beefs have been genuine and recognize a real viscious diss.

Not necessarily

What the fuck is up with all these ad hominems lately, I mean seriously do you get off knowing that you look like Obama so that gives you the right to claim you have more knowledge on the genre than the next smoe? Is my opinion null and void because I'm an asian that can enjoy anime and manga as well as Hip Hop, when I probably know more about Hip Hop than most of this fucking section (yeah I went there)

Good god you're an argumentative little prick, you yourself said Hit Em Up was straight from the gut viscious, why nitpick at every little thing? Pac saying he fucked Biggie's wife isn't like someone saying they banged a dude's mom when they obviously didn't, it was straight to the heart insulting, the shit people get hurt over.

Yes every great beef is personal, name me one classic beef that didn't start from a random diss track out of no where. There isn't one.

That wasn't an ad hominem moron, it's 100% accurate. It's how he acts, how his views are, etc. Just look at his tastes, I doubt he'll deny that that's what he is.

Find me one post I've made where I've said that looking like Obama (which I don't) makes my opinion more valid. You can't, YOU get off on flipping shit constantly. No your opinion isn't void because you're asian and read weird ass cartoons, it's kinda funny tho but whatever.

And Stillmatic shits on what you know, you honestly don't lay much actual knowledge down like he does. You're posts aren't much more convincing than the average poster who's getting all his shit off Wikipedia. You can tell Stillmatic knows this by heart, agree with him or not.

I never denied this, you hilarious imbecile. I'm saying that there's no proof that he fucked Biggie's wife like you're claiming, and I wouldn't put it past Pac to have made that claim impulsively just to rile Biggie up.

You used the fact that you're black and American to try and solidify your views on Hip Hop against DA as well, moron.

Except I have a lot of respect for Stillmatic, and know he's one of the most knowledgable heads in this section you dipshit. Unlike you who tries to claim that "LOLOLOL I'm Black and American therefore I know more Hip Hop than you". And who gives a shit where I get my information from, and lol at you patronizing about being the worthless Wikipedia poster when you make random pop trivia threads no one gives a shit about as to look more knowledgable than you really are.

I didn't say you denied it you hilarious imbecile (oooh I guess you can use ad hominem arguments huh). Proof isn't needed becuase it's possible you stupid shit. If I told you right now I fucked your mom, you wouldn't be offended because I obviously couldn't have. If I was alone with my roommate's girlfriend for an hour when he was in class, and I told him I fucked her, he would probably punch me. Understand, you overanalytical douche?
Common vs Ice Cube

Oh look, you don't know everything about hip hop, imagine that...
It started because Ice Cube thought Common was taking shots at the West coast in general and quickly escalated. Ice Cube didn't wake up and say "Hmmm, ya know, I think I'mma diss Common today, mix sht up a lil."
You used the fact that you're black and American to try and solidify your views on Hip Hop against DA as well, moron.

That was when we were talking about how big rappers were and how much hype they had. So yes, I do think a dude (any color) from America would be able to speak better on that than a dumb ass kid from Lebanon. Are you really gonna argue that?

Never said you didn't, all I'm saying is he makes way better posts than you. See, what you do is try to nitpick posts' words, you just go for semantics. You rarely actually make extended valid arguments yourself. Please point me to a time when I've said that being Black makes me more knowledgeable about hip hop. I never have. When we're talking about Black culture I've said that because guess what? It does dumbshit. And what "pop trivia" threads? I post random stuff I find interesting like the George Clinton samples, is that what you're whining about? Petty lil kid.

Since I'm so ad hominem, why don't you get some balls and post your pic instead of covering your face? Is it because you look like a lil bitch and none of us will take you seriously knowing what you look like? Hmm I guess we'll have to ad hominem the shit out of that and assume yes.

Go read your asian cartoons (oooh ad hominem :o )
