CC: Songs that have brought the most 'emotion' out of you

Postby Satire » Apr 30th, '11, 18:53

I mean this in the least gayest way possible aka I am very idiotic. And yes, I want to hear some stories.

Music does alot of wonderful things to us. It makes us feel good, it makes us feel sad, sometimes it makes us (more specifically, you faggots) jump out of the chairs and start dancing. When I say they "bring emotion", it doesn't necessarily mean that it made you cry or anything along the lines. I'm going to use Eminem songs as examples just because it's easier for this board.

I once heard Lello say that after hearing Lose Yourself, it would make anyone wanna forget all of the shit you're going through and just "go for it", whatever "it" might be. That's emotion. It's inspiring. So many people consider that song an anthem, despite how depressing some of the lyrics are, it's to many a "pump-up" song.

Then there are songs that are so hype that they might cause somebody to just punch a motherfucker's mouth in, aka Fight Music :shifty:

I've read on other boards, that after hearing Not Afraid for the first time some people, actually cried beautiful tears of joy, whether it be because their hero was "finally back" or because they connected with the song and it's content so well. I'm sure some did the same with Tech N9ne's "F.A.N.S" (Master Chief).

And of course, in the more customary instance, there are songs that you relate to and understand so well, that it just sends chills down your spine so you listen to it over and over again until that feeling goes away and even then you will continue to praise it religiously. This kind of ties in with the one above about crying, but yeah, if you did it, admit it. I'm not one to judge :coffee:

That's why we sing for these kids, who don't have a thing
Except for a dream, and a fuckin' rap magazine
Who post pin-up pictures on their walls all day long
Idolize they favorite rappers and know all they songs
Or for anyone who's ever been through shit in their lives
Till they sit and they cry at night wishin' they'd die
Till they throw on a rap record and they sit, and they vibe
We're nothin' to you but we're the fuckin' shit in they eyes

^ That's all I'm going to say about that.

TL;DR, the title.

Lupe Fiasco's- He Say She Say is extremely mirrors my brother's relationship with my father perfectly, and my mother's relationship with my father as well.

The first verse of Sing for the Moment is like an after effect of He She Say.

I'll elaborate later, if I feel like it.

I cried to When I'm Gone because a relative died. R.I.P. Jeff. I got teary eyed to the last verse of Song For The Moment. I got a bit emotional to F.A.N.S. (Duh). There's more but those are the main ones.

The only Hip-Hop song that's made me get emotional was Searching For Some Beautiful but not in a sad way, kinda like the example you gave for Lello.

Well things were not going to well for me and my family when I first heard Hip Hop Saved my life. I was pretty young but I loved the song and it really inspired me. I am not a rapper of course but I applied it to my life because Hip Hop Saved My Life for me is about overcoming struggle. It realy got me through some hard times and things are much better now. When I listen to the song these days it gives me good feelings.

I've always hated Ja Rule. I was actually one of the people always clenching my fist whenever his records came on the radio when he was amongst the elite in hip hop, because we knew what his real life character was like long before the Unit exposed him.

But I can acknowledge a great song when I hear one.

This is one of my all time favorite songs and came out off his debut album when we were a bit young.

For anyone who didn't get to know their pops, they would feel all that.

The only emotions I really get out of songs is anger & confusion (what the fucks going on/why are we here ect) & since this is in the HHD i'm guessing rock songs don't count so there goes most of my list. Fuck it i'll give this a try though.

Eminem - Kim
Eminem - The Way I Am
Eminem - Rock Bottom
Eminem - Till I Collapse
Eminem - Rabbit Run
D12 - Fight Music
D12 - Revelation
D12 - Blow My Buzz
Tech N9ne - Devil Boy
Tech N9ne - Show Me A God
Tech N9ne - Hope For A Higher Power
Tech N9ne - Leave Me Alone
Hopsin - Nocturnal Rainbows
Hopsin - You Are My Enemy
Hopsin - Leave Me Alone (second song with that same name, motherfuckers needa leave me alone :coffee: )
Rhyme Asylum - Stark Raving Genius
Rhyme Asylum - Poison Penmanship
Rhyme Asylum - For The Hate
Rhyme Asylum - Holding On
Rhyme Asylum - I Know
Diabolic - 12 Shots
AOTP - Into The Arms Of Angels
Immortal Technique - Dance With The Devil
Immortal Technique - You Never Know
Kanye West - Welcome To Heartbreak

Shit now i'm actually glad I don't have to do rock songs, that list would take even more time typing out.

The Last Emperor - One life,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXWkksacWWI
Is the only song I can remember myself getting emotional from. It's really sad because the guy on the 2nd verse died shortly after from cancer.

The only music I really like is the music that brings out emotion in me, 'cause music, to me, is what feelings sound like.

But the song that brought the most emotion out of me would probably be 'Stained', by Joe Budden.

The first time I heard it it was like I was listening to myself talking to me...

That song always sends chills down my spine. I was going through a lot of shit; found out my ex cheated on me after I had almost cheated on her, increased rate of racism in my city, broke, bottom line... Life was fucked up at that moment, so I related to that song like non other song before.

It's one of the reasons why Joey is one of my favorite rappers.
