What got you into Hip Hop

When Food and Liquor came out I was really young. A kid at my school was playing it and I loved it. I didn't understand it that well but I loved the vibe. So I stole it from him and that was the first hip hop record I ever listened to. I listened to it like thousands of times on the cd player at my neighbors. I was mesmorized and then I remember buying the cool. I still remember it to this day because I was so excited. Anyway those were the only albums I owned until I heard Beautiful then I got into Eminem and joined this forum. I only really got into hip hop when I joined this forum and everybody introduced me to other rappers.

It was Linkin Park, when I was 12 years old that made me rap. I mean, unconsciously, I could rap along easily to their songs. Then I heard Eminem, and my mom asked me, which is better? LP or Eminem?

I refused to admit Eminem was better but all I know is I could relate to Eminem a lot. It's too typical that people got into rap because of Eminem but yeah, that's that.

Come to think about it, it might be Limp Bizkit that got me into explicit rap. My friend introduced me to Hotdog, which made me think, how can such vulgarities be used in music? It caught my attention.

Lots of things. I first gained interest from hearing Collio songs and Weird AL parody tracks (dont judge me, hip hop wasnt big around where I was at in the south) but still wasnt to much into it. Someone gave me a Chronic 2001 cd and a 2pac Until the End of Time cd and I rocked the shit out of those. But I really got into it when my friend let me listen to The Eminem Show, after that I was a big Eminem fan, couldn't wait to hear his next releases. Its funny cause after that my mom told my grandma I was into rap and she sent me a Jay Z black album and Ja Rules Blood in my Eye album for Christmas and I really like them shits but at the time I was feeling 50 Cents shit but still liked the Blood in my Eye album but had to go out and buy the Get Rich or Die Trying album witch is a classic in my opinion. And yea thats how I got into it. Now its my favorite type of music to listen to.
