Btw, Satire aren't you a fan of MF doom, and from what I heard isn't he a completely unorthodox rapper that I know most people here won't appreciate, since they tend to have boners over who can rap the fastest and spit the most syllables per verse, I don't think they'd appreciate his style. Along with Dr Octagon's, Del's (in BSOTB), and Quasimato.

I just thought that since you can appreciate something like MF doom, you might have taken a liking to Ghost's style on Supreme Clientele, and yes this is a fallacy. (Association?)

I probably would if I took the time to check him out properly. I always hear good things about him aside from the people who can't think of anything to fault him for other than "He's boring". It's not that I dislike the things I've heard from him or anything, it just takes me that one song that I really like to make me look into an artist.

Boring? I could understand being eccentric or turned off by his unorthodox style, but boring nah, Ghost is one of the most energetic mcs out there (a true one if there ever was a meaning for the word), probably cause he isn't as technically adroit as most others people are used to listening too, but his personality and charisma makes me listen to him.

I wouldn't know but I was just saying that's the only bad thing I hear about him. What is his best album?

I approve of the kind words being said about Ghost, carry on please :y:

On topic, lyrically Soul on Ice is a masterclass, but I couldn't care for it musically

Musically, The Unseen is genius, but I'd rather listen to it instrumentally (I don't hate the lyrics though)

Love both = Hell Hath No Fury

Hate both = Rebirth (all I can think of to be honest)

That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael
See Martin, see Malcolm
You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas; see Caesar, see Brutus
See success is like suicide

It depends on what you want to hear, Ironman's good if you like the gritty Noir sound of the 90s akin to BCC, Big L, Mobb Deep, MOP though there's a lot of guests in this album and I can't really just call this Ghost's album.

Supreme Clienetele is him at his peak as an mc, and where he uses his signature stream of consciousness rhymes, I guess give it a try if you like soulful production, and feel like listening to one mc dominate the album.

And I guess give Fishscales a listen if you want, it has the most varied production from J dilla to MF doom, though he isn't near his peak as he was on Supreme Clientele, he still does a decent job of owning the beats and not letting them own him.

I will say he was on complete fire on OB4CL, even though it's technically Rae's album.

That's what makes him great tbh, as weird as that sounds.

diction is right, I class Ironman as a RZA orchestrated album with Ghost, Rae and Cappadonna playing their roles, whereas Supreme Clientelle is Ghost unhinged spraying some of the most lucid phrases and quotables you'll ever hear

The thing about most of Ghost's albums though, they all suffered from sample clearances, especially Bulletproof Wallets (the origional version got 4.5 from the source) and The Pretty Toney LP, if his albums where all released as they where intended to be, he'd have the best solo discography in hip hop, for me anyway

He's definitely up there in terms of most consistant mc, and is arguably the most consistant solo mc.(Black Thought, Andre, and Posdnous don't count) Only deuce he really dropped in his career was Ghost deini, also take into account his verses on albums like OB4CL-2, and Enter The Wu and Wu Forever.

Interesting, kinda hard for me to find a lyrical song I don't like musically as I usually go for "musically" first! I end up forgetting the ones that fall under the first category.

Lyrically:

If it weren't for the rhyming, I would never listen to this song again, but it has quite a lot of replays lol

Musically:

Kanye should also release instrumental versions of his albums!

Both:

@class, quite a coincidence, I had "Murder of Crows" on repeat the whole of this morning :8)
