Obviously this is an unlikely situation (You only have 3 friends that die exactly 4 years apart from each-other and even so you've never befriended anyone through association with them, wtf?) but it isn't about likeliness the circumstances, it's about the moral value of the answers

I'd still pick 3 true friends. I have been great friends with this one fella since pre-k. Other kids come and go but great friends are always gonna be there. Until Satire murders them every 4 years....

TBH, I'd probably go with the second option cause I'd rather not lose the three friends that I only have, it'd be too painful, loll. Being treated with respect is nice, but I hate for it to be superficial, so I dunno. I would have without a doubt chose the latter without thinking about it if you get to hang out with them outside of school and not just chit chat with them in school, but I guess I'll choose the second option. I mean, I'm an introvert in real life, but I'm not some social pariah used as a tool.
