I don't really care what kind of music someone listens to, but if someone is a real true Eminem fan, I don't see how they couldn't like hip hop. If they only like his mainstream hits, I get it, but if they're a Stan, I'd say they like hip-hop even if they don't know it.

As for the song, well, you'd probably want to play a song of an artist similar to Eminem so they'd like it and start listening to more hip hop.

A good recent song I think to play them would be He's A Mental Giant by Tech N9ne. That song is addictive to me. Another good one would be Ghost by 2Pac.

Tbh, i might put myself on this list as well! Thing is, when you listen to so much... "refined" or in the words of this forum "watered down" music, its hard to change that perception. Even people like Biggie /Pac/ Rakim cant make me fall in love with the game :( Its But, if i were to try to do that...

I'd start with some mainstream oldish tracks. From the vault. Anything from Kanye, Jay Z, T.I, Ludacris, Chammillionare (in their prime) etc usually does the trick. The nostalgic feeling will capture the interest while the lyricism, beats, or flow will retain it. Then, i'd give them The Rising Tied- an album from a popular rock guy who lays out hip-hop as it is.

Tech N9ne- Gods, Ft Krizz Kaliko and Kutt Calhoun.

I'd fuckin punch them in the head then ignore/walk away from them cause they'd be too dumb to talk to anyways..

I don't know though.. Can you really change someone's mind or enlighten them in any way when they are so close minded to begin with?

I would play You Never Know by Immortal Technique because it's a beautiful song, and people are usually amazed by this song. And I would also play Brenda's got a baby by Pac.

If anything, it's a statement that shows how Eminem music can transcend genres, preferences, etc.

This is nothing but a great thing.

All you guys that LOVE underground music, I bet if all the people that say they only like Eminem started all liking Rhyme Asylum, all of you would hate RA too.

It's a contradictive statement, obviously, we all know Eminem makes Hip Hop music. So, if you enjoy Eminem's music, then you're enjoying Hip Hop music. You cannot dislike Hip Hop music, and like Eminem music. That's like saying I hate meat, but I love steak.

I think they're brainwashed or something to be honest. They think of hip-hop and all they see is fast cars, loads of jewellery & hot chicks. They then notice Eminem who is the most famous hip-hop artist and they notice he tends not to include this in his work mostly and so they come to that conclusion. Plus most of the hip-hop they play on the popular radio is crap so they think that all hip-hop music is like it. I think its worse outside the US where hip-hop is less popular yet Eminem isn't.

I'd play them some Common or The Roots and show them a different and better side to this great genre.

Giggs is less commercial than RA, ONLY raps about street shit, which has a limited audience, has served time in jail and as a result has been blocked by the industry (well, they tried). The police cancel his shows all the time, he was banned from the BBC. Yet despite all this he has had way more 'success' and hype than RA, which he made for himself off his own back.

Plus he has

Collabed with B.o.B
Collabed with Joel Ortiz
Collabed with Lloyd Banks, & Kanye West
Collabed with Waka Flocka
& more

Had DJ Whoo Kid host his mixtape, and support him.
Diddy has supported him
+ many other big names in the US. Interviews with ThisIs50 etc

Can you say the same for RA? No one wants to hear that shit, they suck.

Rhyme Asylum are way more accessible and marketable to a UK audience too, especially in a 90% white country.

No one in the UK has ever been as real as Giggs, whilst attaining as much success/hype. They always compromise and do corny pop music. Not Giggs!

Like he said in a track

"All the bullshits gotta stop, my last album went hard, they never wanted pop
I gave ni-ggas and bitches what they wanna cop, straight hard shit,I aint never rapped lollipop.
Little hating black golliwogs, you aint never heard a verse where I've gone in soft"

Anyway this thread isn't about Giggs, why bring him into it?
