^ He was on the UK remix of 'Start It Up' so he hasn't really collaborated with Ye.

One Mic wrote:Giggs is less commercial than RA, ONLY raps about street shit, which has a limited audience, has served time in jail and as a result has been blocked by the industry (well, they tried). The police cancel his shows all the time, he was banned from the BBC. Yet despite all this he has had way more 'success' and hype than RA, which he made for himself off his own back.

Plus he has

Collabed with B.o.B
Collabed with Joel Ortiz
Collabed with Lloyd Banks, & Kanye West
Collabed with Waka Flocka
& more

Had DJ Whoo Kid host his mixtape, and support him.
Diddy has supported him
+ many other big names in the US. Interviews with ThisIs50 etc

Can you say the same for RA? No one wants to hear that shit, they suck.

Rhyme Asylum are way more accessible and marketable to a UK audience too, especially in a 90% white country.

No one in the UK has ever been as real as Giggs, whilst attaining as much success/hype. They always compromise and do corny pop music. Not Giggs!

Like he said in a track

"All the bullshits gotta stop, my last album went hard, they never wanted pop
I gave ni-ggas and bitches what they wanna cop, straight hard shit,I aint never rapped lollipop.
Little hating black golliwogs, you aint never heard a verse where I've gone in soft"

Anyway this thread isn't about Giggs, why bring him into it?

All you guys that LOVE underground music, I bet if all the people that say they only like Eminem started all liking Rhyme Asylum, all of you would hate RA too.

No...we like good music :facepalm

So if for some random reason Rhyme Asylum and Copywright got HUGE and their music was EVERYWHERE and played on the radio all the time and their videos on youtube got 300,000,000 views you would still be a huge fan. I doubt it.

I seriously can't decide if people like you are fucking serious, lmao. Most people I know who like RA would praise the day that happened, they WANT them to be big, to push out some of the mainstream bullshit that's generally considered good...

It is only a problem if those guys start arguing that he is the best of all time. Whether he is or not doesn't matter in this case cus if you don't listen to anything else then you're just ignorant and shouldn't start saying stuff like that.

I think the most important thing for a hip hop fan is to know how to appreciate and respect the art and the culture. It doesn't matter how many albums and different artists you've listened to in your life. You can always find someone who knows more artists than yourself. It doesn't necesarrily make you less of a fan of the art just because you havn't listened to an awful lot of releases.

I would play some T.I. shit for them. Some Jay-Z shit. Or Diddy's Coming Home.

I definitely see where you are coming from with that, but if you said that to one of these people they would almost certainly disagree and come out with some bullsit in response. You should try it, if the opportunity ever presents itself.

I suppose the correct thing to say for one of those close-minded Eminem Stans is "Eminem is the only rapper I like" or something, as that doesn't contradict anything.

It doesn't really mean they are ignorant. It just means that they don't really like hip hop but they like gay songs like Not Afraid or funny songs like TRSS. It just isn't their genre I suppose. There is actually a lot of people on this forum with an attitude like that.

It pisses me off ridiculously and comments like that make me want to punch them in the face till I dislodge their front teeth, I hate ignorance, but mostly willful ignorance. Besides like Zu said it's a contradictory statement, to say you like Eminem but don't like Hip Hop.

Get off your lazy ass and stop sheltering yourself from other Hip Hop, that are just as accessible as Eminem's. I really don't see why some people would only like Eminem, even if they're new to Hip Hop, as there are tons of artists that have similar traits which define Eminem and make him great. Whether it be his emotion, lyrical skills, content, etc. Granted you could make a case that few can incorparate all the traits and execute them as well as Eminem, but that's besides the point.

Really only reason for that willfully ignorant statement to be said would be either you're lazy as fuck and ignorant, or you're some closet racist that's scared of black people music and think Eminem's the only rapper to not rap about cars, hos, clothes and all that materialistic shit.

Eminem is the only rapper i like. Its not that i haven't given someone else a try, i just can't get into other rappers, so wtf am i ignorant about? my own taste? :facepalm

what is really ignorant is thinking that people can't only like one rapper, that's like saying rap fans can't like a particular artist of any other genre

Most people make that comment out of ignorance though, and can bet that they haven't given a Hip Hop a fair try and are judging it off of the vapid shit on MTV than formulating their opinion off of that garbage, which off course is going to make Eminem look like a god.

Are there people that have given the genre a fair chance and can only appreciate Eminem, yeah, but to act like they're the majority instead of the minority is ludicrous. Not to mention a lot of them are rockers who can appreciate Eminem's crossover appeal while not appreciating the rest of the genre.

I blame mainstream rap for people saying shit like this. :coffee:
A lot of these people think the genre sucks because they think of all rappers as Lil Wayne & Soulja Boy, thinking Eminem is the only exception. My friend was like this a year ago, he only liked some Eminem & Akon. I started showing him other artists that appealed to his personality (which is pretty similar to mine so it was easy) and he likes Hip Hop way more now. He also got me way more into the rock genre so it was a double edged sword.
