Easy.

Do or Die album and The Firm album.

One of the best to touch the mic.

The Firm was terrible and an embarassment to Nas and Az's career and was a failed attempt at revitalizing the Mafioso genre, when it has been dead as a doornail for years.

Though I do agree with Doe or Die being a must listen to if you want to get into Az's catalogue, a lot of classic material though no real stand out songs. All in all a good album, but not sure if I'd call it a "classic".

Next would probably be A.W.O.L. which trounces his three previous efforts in just about every category, beats, emceeing, guests, etc. Also a good add on to the Hardcore genre since it was basically hurting at the release of A.W.O.L.

Looking foward to Doe or Die 2 but it's probably not going to be anywhere near as good as the original, but that's a given with all these sequel albums that OB4CL2 started.

lol @ The Firm album being terrible. Your suggestion that mafioso rap had been done for years is ridiculous considering Life After Death came out in the same year, It was written came out the year before, and OB4CL only came out 2 years before.

Seriously.

I'm not going to argue whether or not The Firm was a good album or not, but I'm pretty sure most people regard it as a stain in Nas and Az's career, maybe if Cormega was in the lineup instead of Nature it would have been half decent, but even than Nas and Az's performance in that album was lackluster.

I exaggerated with Mafioso being dead, more like overplayed, it really exploded in 96 when everybody was emulating Raekwon, 97 was when it was starting to die out and The Jiggy Era was starting to take place which was ten times worse than Mafioso, not that Mafioso was a terrible genre to begin with.

The Firm album is a disaster for the most part, couple of decent tracks, but nowhere near what it should have been, and Canibus' Desperados verse is the highlight of the whole project

As for what AZ albums to get, Doe Or Die and The Format would be me choices
Same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with
Sh.., Thats' only half if they like you
That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael
See Martin, see Malcolm
You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas; see Caesar, see Brutus
See success is like suicide
Suicide, it's a suicide
If you succeed, prepare to be crucified
