Kez wrote:I was being sarcastic. Of course I support England, but then again there isn't a football team called "Britain" is there? :coffee: So what the hell do you expect me to do :p

No there isn't. They tried to form a United Kingdom football team though, but England, Scotland, Wales and N.Ireland all wanted their own independence and to represent themselves.

Ok, so you're English who considers himself British first, English second. Any reason why?

I only know a few English people who are adamant that they are "English, not British". Most English people aren't that bothered, but if you ask the majority of Scottish and Welsh people they will say they are NOT British, and say Scottish or Welsh respectively.

Scotland are really seeking independence right now.

WHAT THE FUCK AM I GOING ON ABOUT. Goodnight!

And Kez, MikeNUFC (and anyone else) do you consider yourself to be English or British?

Rant over somebody hating Wales? lmao, that'll be the day.

I hate Wales and where I live is a shit-hole. The Welsh accent(s) also annoy me and usually make the person (whether the case or not) sound totally retarded.

I'm near the border though, I don't sound that Welsh, I'm near Bristol so it's like this weird little mix of an accent. Maybe slightly more English than Welsh but it's kind of unique. But, still shit.

But nah, I'm not into automatic patriotism lmao. Where you're born is outside of your control, so, whilst it's okay to be 'proud' of where you live if it happens to have a good history or be well-established - it's pretty stupid to treat it like it's your creation. Like you had any stake in it. And it's equally dumb to be ashamed of where you're from.

I'm an individual, and I think of people as... that too. People are more than their birthplace.

^ Fair enough. I agree for the most part.

I just think it's funny how we all have our own different teams in Football, Rugby, Cricket etc, but then in the Olympic Games we all join forces and it's "Great Britain".

And I think you're being harsh on the Welsh accent lol. But then again I think everyone hates their accent wherever they come from. "the grass looks greener on the other side" type thing. I quite like it (on females anyway). That Welsh woman from Gavin & Stacey >>>>

Scottish accent doesn't sound that good to me though on most females, sick on males.

Love the Irish accent.

Not my favourite, cause I've never been there, but if I had to choose one country I'd love to visit that'd be Cuba. I don't know how it is to live there, probably hard, but I think that people over there are fantastic and as people of Hispanic origin, they're probably snappy and positive. It'd be great to just meet them and see how they live on daily basis. Read couple of books by Cuban authors about Cuba and Cubans, and it seems like they're really like that.
Also, it's a beautiful country and I'm fascinated by the architecture, old American cars, drinks and cigars, so if I ever get the chance to go there, I'm gonna be so fucking happy. :) :)

Other than that, from all the countries I've visited.. Maybe the Netherlands? Legal weed, nice people, weird language and they got awesome musli. Czech Republic has great beer. I love Austrian slopes in winter.. Really hard to choose :sweating:

You're ruining my vision of England as a place of happy, phlegmatic people, 5 o'clock tea, rainy days, fry-ups and wrong-side traffic. :'(

Fav: Asia. Best food and culture. Most beautiful land. Despite what all outsiders think, Asia is the most peaceful and friendliest place in the world. Only place in the world that still makes sense to me. I'd be damned if I let technology represent humanity. Nature and Culture is what represents life to me. If you think being rich is living the life then you are chasing a shallow life of eternal misery and cheat. A world where your image is what represents you and not your heart and soul is a world of cheat and trickery. If money is the most thing that makes you happy then you don't know what happiness is tbh.

Least fav: Idk. I can't think of one without being bias.

As for hip hop: Usa/France/Russia. Where's all the NTM and CENTR fans at? I like Russian and French hip hop more than American hip hop. Simply because it's more about the culture than popularity. Guf is one of the illest rappers. I love his emotion. God damn legend.

Yeah, well as for the sports thing - I know this wasn't your point but just to say, I don't place any value on it anyway for that reason. As in... I don't watch football or support any teams, I'm just too logical for it to make any sense to me.

Because, if you happen to have been born in Manchester then you're likely to support Man United, especially if in a family that supports them and encourages you to as well. Therefore, it's not really a choice, or true 'support', it's more like religious thinking.

It's like automatically buying into what you were born into or raised on, just for 'the sake of it' lmao. And beyond that I find it fucking boring to watch anyway. I've always found sports boring as fuck. Except for boxing. And, that makes more sense... as, if I support Mike Tyson, I support Mike Tyson.

Where as, if you support a football team - they buy in players from other countries and all sorts so, all you're actually supporting is a fucking football outfit lmao. You're supporting an image. I just find it all pretty weird and irrational, especially when people live or die by their team and smash each other's heads in with bricks over it. Fucking retards.

Rugby is okay and obviously any time you have a country playing another country it's more solidified than like, league sports or whatever. I used to play rugby until about age... 12 too, I broke my collar bone - dented it in and it's stuck like it. Fucking vile.

But yeah, I don't follow any sport anyway. Can't be fucked.

Ricky Hatton (England) v Joe Calzaghe (Wales)
David Haye (England) v Nathan Cleverly (Wales)

^ Who you gonna support?

Can't say nationalities don't matter.

David Haye has the England flag on his trunks, whilst Enzo Maccarinelli has the Welsh flag on his. This is out of their own choice, and own freewill....and is NOT a requirement. They are fighting for their countries, for their fellow countrymen.

The respective national anthems for each boxer before a big fight are sung for a reason...
