That doesn't really make a difference, and half the albums you listed aren't even classic like F&L, Joell Ortiz's albums, Stillmatic, Be.

Either way you shouldn't put separate Hip Hop into different categories of Old School or underground just enjoy the music, besides I'm pretty sure there's artists that break the mold of the stereotypes that said acts may have.

i.e. Old School music not being lyrical (Siah and Yeshua, Nas)
i.e. Underground having shitty production and mcs having no personality (Blackalicious, Cunninlynguists)

Not to mention there could be artists that fall under both categories of old school (even though most people refer to anything pre 2000 as old school) and underground.

i did NOT list albums that i think are classics,if i want to pick classics outta that list, itd be very minimized.

but the feel when u listen to old school hip hop is wayyy better to when u listen to the underground.

Being the type of person who will beat the fuck out of someone just cause they think it makes em hard is not a good thing, and that's exactly the kind of people you are describing. I apologise if you disagree on this view, if you think there's nothing better than rappers who pull knives on kids in the street because "you looked at man funny blad" but there is nothing I hate more than people like that.

lolwut?

I don't condone anything like that all. If there are people like that, then they are absolute scum.

I just like grime purely from an entertainment aspect. I disagree with the majority of the content, because it isn't me, but it's just fun and enjoyable to listen to.

Look at it like this. They are basically just saying in audio form what goes on in Scarface, Goodfellas, The Godfather (or any other classic gangster/mob movie). You watch those films for entertainment, and even though the content is very similiar, those movies get labelled as classics, whilst grime mc's get labelled as thugs.

It's just entertainment.

If it's just entertainment, why does it matter to you so much whether they're "from the tower block" or not? :confusion: I'm not trying to be a smartarse I'm genuinely wondering.

I ain't trying to turn Class's thread into more of a argument but seriously? If you could play Rhyme Asylum to your mom & she wouldn't get offended she either doesn't understand it or wouldn't get offended by Grime either. Rhyme Asylum rap about murder, death & Satan. Whose mom isn't offended by "deepthroat my dick till it singes in your stomach acid" or "spit on your grave till the corpse floats to the surface"?

@Class since we're suggesting albums here you got any suggestion I should check out? You should know what kind of rap I like.

Hmmmmmmm idk, most of the stuff I listen to I talk about openly and all the time, so you've probably already heard it.

I would download the Horrorflick LP by Bekay if you haven't heard it, that's a great album.

Sick Since has some sick stuff too. The Return Of Nibiru (2012) is a dope album, here's a sample

Madd Maxxx also has some sick stuff, check him out if you haven't
