honestly Eminem took about 10 years off from being a punchline rapper...so i like that he decided to do it again and change his style up once more

and i'm totally aware that I can also come up with wordplay like that and probably better as i do in text battles and such, but it's still cool to see Eminem play around with words and i personally enjoy the wordplay as long as the flow is smooth and the track sounds good i could give a fuck less if he has a few lines that people hate on

Take from Me:

...blowning up.
at christmas time, you should hang my album on top of your fireplace
cus around that time my stocking is going up.
feel like a victory bittersweet cus the bigger i get
the bigger the wedge between the relationship
with me and my bigger brother.
hear what i said? feel like the shit was pushed on me
everything i do for the n.gga and the n.gga know imma do anything for him
but the n.gga refuse to put (?)....shit on me.
keeping your distance is probably best cus he dont wanna fuck with me
but you know me probably best
fuck pity....(?)
tough titty
the problem is you got a problem that you think that i'm already set
so i'm gonna look down on you?

The Reunion:

yeah so?
i'm like so?
you're gonna need a stitch if you keep acting like that hoe.
I look like your husband slut? thats a rhetorical question.
you talk to me like you talk to him, i'll fuck you up.
in fact, get in the backseat like the rest of my dates
no bitch ride shotgun. what? taxi, stop and get you some
maxi pads is that what you actually asked me? *slap*
bitch reaches over and smacks me says i annoy the fuck
outta her, get in the fucking back, put on your slut powder
you slut. what? and shut the fuck up now or get your feelings hurt

I like the line, I don't see why people have to be so fucking anal retentive about his lyrics...like about everything, it must suck listening to a song trying to find fault with it. I just listen and enjoy.

It's not about trying to find fault with it. It's the other way around with Em's music nowadays, the embarrassing lines stand out so much that you can't miss or ignore it or pretend it's not there even if you try. Being "anal retentive about his lyrics" is your way of describing caring strongly about whether the lyrics are good or bad, and I do care strongly. You ARE saying that lyrics aren't that important, no way around that.

No I'm not, they'll take ONE like and constantly pick on it, and call the rest of the song trash because of it. People make such a big deal about him saying "fart" and the window pane line in LTWYL that people ALWAYS used to pick on. And yes, I CAN ignore the bad lines, because I DO ignore them.

Lyrics are important to me, but I believe people are taking what I said out of context. I should have said his concepts and subject matter, because his rhyming is still there. I don't have a problem with the punchlines, because I like how he executes them, and I personally think his lyrics are good, so it's not like I'm saying "Hey guys, I know this is bad, but why do you guys keep picking on it?!" No, I'm not saying that at all. I never even gave an indication of where I stand on his lyrics, with that post, the MAIN thing I wanted to say is why can't people just enjoy the music without constantly finding fault with shit (and TRYING to find something wrong, a lot of you go into these songs knowing you won't like it) and saying the same shit over and over? I'm saying you guys are "anal retentive" because you take the bad shit, and emphasize it by like, a thousand, and run it into the ground further by always talking about it. You guys listen to an Eminem song, and not sit there and enjoy it. You (not necessarily you) pick apart every single thing, take what you don't like, and come on the forum to bitch about it. I'm happier enjoying the music than being negative about everything.

Life is much better when you learn to enjoy things for what they are, instead of being negative about everything. I'm not saying don't be negative, everyone is entitled to an opinion, but the same shit keeps on being said every day, by a lot of the same people, and I was saying it gets on my nerves. Of course, everyone has to take what I said the wrong way and say "OMG YOU DON'T KARE ABOUT LYRICKS!!!!" No, I never said that. I actually prefer my lyrics to be good, and material that appeals to me. Fortunately for me, I LOVE all of the slut bashing in his song...I like the BME shit more than Recovery (fucking sue me, because I actually do). You guys want him making 17 song albums, with all of the songs sounding like Going Through Changes. I like what he's putting out now better than that emotional bullshit (I think Lighters will be my least favorite track), we've heard that same song and dance over and over again, and it's nice to see Eminem actually having fun on tracks again.

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

Trigger is daaamn right. Some people here and on SL say a song is trash judging to one bad line or two.

Over there, it's even worst. But judging LTWYL on that window pane is kinda harsh, the song in itself isn't bad, it just got overplayed and a lot of us got tired of it.

Trigger writing a load of shit as per

Because bad lines can ruin songs. Is that so hard to work out? And it's not like his delivery and content make up for it at the moment. His flow ruins his rhyming as well because it's so poorly structured.

Mostly gibberish that said nothing.

No-one is trying to find fault (as buffallo bill said) but when the lines are so glaringly bad it's hard not to. If it was just some cliched similies I wouldn't care - it's the fact he delivers them as if they're clever and they're scattered everywhere.

I'm saying you guys are "anal retentive" because you take the bad shit, and emphasize it by like, a thousand, and run it into the ground further by always talking about it. You guys listen to an Eminem song, and not sit there and enjoy it.

I'm saying you are "anal retentive" because you take the half decent shit, and emphasize it by like, a thousand, and run it into the ground further by always talking about it. You guys listen to an Eminem song, and sit there and enjoy it, without thought.

See how that works both ways?

You (not necessarily you) pick apart every single thing, take what you don't like, and come on the forum to bitch about it.

I pick apart the glaringly bad and talk about it. Just like you fucks pick out every line that isn't terrible and go on about it as if Eminem is spitting SSLP bars.

All this comes down to is you not being able to accept negative opinions. It's fine for there to be 20 threads about a line you think's great but not a few members to talk about things they dont like

I'm happier enjoying the music than being negative about everything

I'd love to enjoy the music, I'd like nothing more. What reason would I have to be purposely negative? There is none. If I don't enjoy it and think it's mostly bad, then guess what? I'm going to talk about not ejoying and how it's mostly bad, just like you talk about the things you enjoy and think are mostly good. Crazy concept, right?!!!

Life is much better when you learn to enjoy things for what they are, instead of being negative about everything.

"Yeah dude, just enjoy everything maaaan, regardless of the quality, just it enjoyyyy it duuuude. Peace and love man, the world is perfect maaan"

How are people negative about everything? I'm negative about most recent Eminem tracks because they're, on the whole, awful. I'm pretty postitive regarding most other things.

I'm not saying don't be negative

Yes you are.

everyone is entitled to an opinion, but the same shit keeps on being said every day, by a lot of the same people, and I was saying it gets on my nerves.

And the people who like it say the same stuff every day, and it gets on my nerves. But I don't start crying about eyes about and going "stop being postitive waaaaah wahhhhh" having a forum tantrum.

Don't you see how everything your saying about the "negative" people relates to the "positive" people as well? I don't expect you to.

No-one cares what you like and don't like. That's completely irrelevant.

God, you're stupid. It's not about it being 'emotional' or whether Eminem is 'having fun', it's about execution. His voice and flow are horrendous ("its my opinion, so it can't be wrong" to paraphrase your idiocy), his content (not whether it's emotional or not, just what he's saying in these 'battle' tracks) is repetitive, unlike his 'battle' verses from his prime which changed from track to track, hence why they have so much replay value.
