Em's verse is nice, Royce's is good. And the chorus is horrible.
Not even just in context, I just can't stand Bruno Mars. His voice becomes annoying almost immediately to me, it's just too... I dunno, innocent and irritating. B.o.B would of been better.
Given Em's verse content and some of the things he says, I think this was made for Recovery. With Royce. It's a shame they put this on there, clearly for sales as even though it's an EP and out on Shady Records, Jimmy probably still wanted decent sales.
So once again Em has tarnished a project for the sake of a hit.
This is going to no doubt sound so ridiculous and out of place with the rest of the EP. Luckily it's not as bad as "Beautiful" on Relapse as the styles are similar here but still, that chorus on a BAD MEETS EVIL album? it's just bizarre. Sounds happy, corny and cheesy.
This definitely would of been good on Recovery. With Em or B.o.B on the chorus.
Don't think Em or BoB coulda pulled off the chorus like Bruno did. The notes are held too long. Lots of people like Bruno, too, but to each his own.
I don't think it was intended for Recovery though - though it miiiight fit. The production sounds just like other Bruno Mars songs.
It's hard to say what goes on w/ Jimmy and all - Axl Rose recently blamed Jimmy for the Guns N' Roses album flopping, but Axl Rose is also crazy. Jimmy is very talented and has produced for some big names, Tom Petty and more...I think Em has a lot of freedom at Interscope seeing as he has his own imprint and all. I think it was Em's choice to have Bruno and this track on this EP. I don't think it was a Recovery leftover.
