To People That Hate On Underground

Postby classthe_king » Jun 5th, '11, 03:42

And constantly mention record sales and shit like that. I'm just bringing this back because I think it's a great perspective on underground rap and rap as a whole. Not everyone wants to be famous. This is why R.A The Rugged Man is my favorite rapper as a person, even though I don't really like his music. Please. Don't turn this into an R.A vs. Eminem debate. Just watch the videos and let it sink in.

Lol, I remember this thread you made it a while ago. All I know was that Xray didn't like what he stood for (at the time, don't know about now), and called him a hypocrite or something like that. I used to think he was really great as well, but he's very robotic with his multies.

Or is this not a discussion of his music?

It's not really a discussion about his music, just about his views on rap.

I love underground rap, just not the faggot shit that frequents this forum.

It seems if you're white, have read the dictionary a few hundred times, can put together a bunch of multi-syllable rhymes but not actually say anything worthwhile, be pretentious, and throw in a few punchlines, then you can have a fanbase on TR Shady.

It's funny how we're applying what occurred to you two individually with two different artists (Eminem, Sadistik) to the fans of two entire sub-cultures of hip hop.

As for Lello, Stans are stupid. Stupid people use fallacies. Not every defender of mainstream music is stupid enough to use sales as an argument (Case in point, FreeSpeech).

C.R.E.A.M, that mentality happens everywhere, even outside of the Underground fanbase. If I said I don't like Eminem on a random Youtube vid right now, someone would be like "What do you like? Lil' Wayne!??!?!?!!?!?!?!!?!!?!?"

Another recent example from this very forum:

Revolutionary wrote:Man this song is so nice, i feel sorry for the people who disliked it.
And the funny thing is that they listen to rappers that are 1000 times worse than Em (Kanye, Wayne..etc) :zipped:

Excuse me, but what i said was 100% right.
Tell me, what's wrong with that statement.
It's okay if you listen to the music and you like it, but it's absolutely not okay to critique someone's work (Em's for example) and then go in another forum praising a shitty ass song.
Also, most times i just like to piss some rapper's fans. Apparently, you do that too.

What do you mean what is wrong with it? First off, I didn't say anything was wrong with it. Look at the context that I quoted it in. CREAM said that underground fans like to call others music taste's shitty because they don't share the same views or they say that they don't like a certain artist, which is EXACTLY what you're doing in that quote. It's being as assumptive as the instance that C.R.E.A.M. described.

Now, if you want me to break it down in front of you if you really can't find any fault saying that, it's just an elementary insult out of obnoxious inference that I could find on the comment section of any typical Youtube video like I just said. If you want to be the e-thug when you're in a back and fourth argument and try to diss another person's music taste, by all means go for it. I don't care if FreeSpeech insults and you say something like "You listen to Kanye, lulz", but you didn't do that. You said that you feel sorry for anybody who doesn't like the song, and then you said you feel bad for them because they listen to Wayne. Obviously not EVERYBODY who dislikes this song listens to Wayne, that's just retarded. As for Kanye, I would bet that alot of his fans would actually like this track since Bruno Mars is somewhat up his alley.

Really? You're just trying to "piss other rappers fans off"? If you were "just" doing that you wouldn't have jumped shift to try and defend your statement like that. Sure, part of you may be trying to "piss off" other rappers fans but when I do it it's obviously in jest, the distinguishing factor is that you're serious, and now you're trying rationalize your quote when I didn't even say it was "wrong" in the first place, I just used it as a counter example from the opposite end of the debate, but if you really want to get into this :coffee: .

It takes me the time to write 3 paragraphs as it does for you to click the laughing smiley, don't worry.

And I wasn't defending my statement, what I said was based on some of the posters in that thread.
