Summer Jam 2011

Postby stillmatic » Jun 6th, '11, 02:08

I skipped going this year, horrible lineup for a strictly NY hip hop concert with it being lead by the likes of Wayne, Drake, Ross, Birdman, Waka etc. The only NY artists on the show are Banks, Dipset and Loso.

Stream below for those interested.

Some highlights of what's happened so far

- Waka's set was attacked with boos and "fuck off" chants
- Banks brought out Mobb Deep.
- Cam took a shot at Nas.

Dipset just finished, so Wayne's up next.

I hope the boo boys and girls actually go easy on Weezy tonight and save it all for Officer Ricky. Weezy knows he's hated in NY, there's no point in further delivering it home.

Won't surprise me though that Ross is prepared for the hate and brings out Hova to try and counter attack it. That's the only way he'll save himself tonight in my opinion.

Oop there we go, boo boys and girls out for Wayne's "How to love".

Fwiw. Wayne is not helping himself at all. He's lip-syncing the song.

This is getting sad. The crowd is DEAD.

Wow. The crowd is rocking with Rick Ross.

Sad day for NY hip hop. This is the new generation.

Gathering of the Juggalos is like in 3 months. It's not like they were hold on the same night.

Summer Jam is one of the best and most important hip hop shows ever. Countless memorable moments have gone down at Summer Jam. However, it's gotten progressively worse with each passing year. This year was an embarrassment with 0 elite MC's or figures.

Surely there must be better hip hop festivals in NY. There live almost twice as many people there than in my country, and we have a couple of cool ones here. But I guess they are just giving people "what they want"

^That's what it seems like, because honestly, I read the lineup and not one name there that really interested me.
