I really can't be bothered to go back and forth with you for the 100th time.
A point I didn't address in my last post: Diction is the way a person speaks and annunciates. How the fuck can you ever make fun of someone's DICTION in a typed post? That doesn't even make sense.
The main reason I can't be bothered going back and forth with you is because, despite proper grammrz n spellnz, you make no god damn sense. EVERYTHING you're typing is running in a circle.
No, Amadeo, I did not say that Mockingbird was an
amazing song. I pointed out your fallacy in attempting to say that I did. The quotes you posted of me mentioning mockingbird, along with the bolded areas, do not prove otherwise. In fact, they don't prove anything at all, except for the fact I've said it was underrated and Eminem used to put actual emotion and passion in his writing. Ummmmm, good job?

Also, a 'big fan of mockingbird'? I mentioned it once, myself, and maybe once when it was brought up.. Simply to defend the fact that it's underrated. Where's the relevance to this thread, or the correlation between the two scenarios, Amadeo? Exactly, there isn't one.
Block wrote:Deja vu does suck. And I never said Encore was a good album. I said there are some great songs. And I said that mockingbird is criminally underrated. It is. But, of course, your opinion is the be-all-end-all, right?
This quote, in no way, says that Mockingbird is a great song. It states, in very simple English, that Encore
has some great songs. AND that Mockingbird is underrated. Notice the 'and' in there? 'and' is connecting the two separate thoughts, Amadeo. If I were to say that Mockingbird was among the great songs on Encore, I would have worded it much differently (ah, amadeo; diction).. I may have said, "There are some great songs on Encore. Mockingbird, for example." Nothing I've said, in any post, comes close to that. Your argument is misrepresenting anything I've ever said about that song, and that album in its entirety. Therefore, your entire argument is based on a very feeble straw man. Torch it and start over. (Couldn't help myself) useewutididthar?
Shitty argument. Plenty of people can tell if someone's not a good lyricist without being good lyricists themselves.
If you think people are claiming that they are good lyricists themselves when they claim that other people aren't good lyricists, you're just...Block. Just Block bein' Block.
I never claimed to be intellectual or cultured. You just made that up. You just misrepresented my posit...no, let's not go down that road again. I don't want to confuse you.
Actually, it's a perfect rebuttal for your failed attempt to be demeaning and then weasel out of it with a, "I never said I was that!!!!" cop-out. And no, someone who is not versed in hip hop would have no idea what a good lyricist is. Why do you think Lil Wayne is praised so much by all these fucking idiots? Because they have no idea what lyricism is.
THAT was an example of a shitty argument, Amadeo.
Also, I never said you
claimed to be. You alluded to the fact that you are/were by telling someone else that they aren't. Also, in another argument with you, you mentioned something along the lines of, "If you were more cultured you would have known that." to me. Which, in its most basic form, is alluding to the fact that you ARE cultured. To argue otherwise is nonsense.
You dug the hole.
This is what you do, and why you're annoying as fuck to argue with.. You run shit in circles; blame someone else for doing EXACTLY what you're doing; claim you've never done/said whatever the argument is at hand; create some nonsensical rebuttal; leave thread after getting your ass handed to you.
^^^ Sound about right? Sounds close enough for me.
EDIT: Any argument we've been in you've failed to refute any claim I've made that wasn't about grammar or English. Fact.
Now respond with some nonsensical breakdown like you're prone to doing because, let's face it, as much as you like to take jabs at me for getting the last word, we all know you can't walk away until you're 100% defeated and there is no light left at the end of your tunnel. A.K.A. what happened in The Back Stage the last time you tried this with me.
Amadeo wrote:Block wrote:LOL you still say that, when I already proved to you in that thread (my initial response to you after you started posting your wannabe-spelling bee-champ bullshit) that you had severely misinterpreted the context of what was said. BUT, the fact I had said that to your lover made you angry; didn't it?
You used the phrase "failing Elementary English."
What, you say "good job failing elementary English" and I'm not meant to interpret that as you making fun of someone's English skills? LOL. Gee, what do you know...diction also has a lot to do with the way meaning is conveyed in language!
If you're making fun of someone's English skills, or insinuating that they have failed elementary English, I'll cite cases where you have failed elementary English. It's as simple as that, Block. Not rocket science.
Block wrote:And no, Amadeo. You pick apart grammar because it's ALL you can do. How about that argument you interjected in, in the Back Stage area? NOTHING to do with grammar / spelling or anything of that nature. Hell, it didn't even concern you. What did you do?
Which thread was this? It was probably a thread where either EminemInsider or myself destroyed you. There was the Beautiful thread, where you said Deja Vu sucks.
Then there was the thread where you tried to say "complicating" didn't rhyme with "I'm debating" in Going Through Changes. Was that the same thread you tried to argue that scared rhymes with afraid?
What about the thread where you said there was such thing as a hard "e" sound? I'm losing count, Block!
It's not just your grammar I've picked you up on, either. EI and I have repeatedly destroyed you in arguments about semantics/linguistics/rhyming/music in general.
Block wrote:Jump in and start drooling all over yourself, mumbling some pre-scripted
drivel about grammar, or lack thereof. But yeah, you can always refute what is said...

I don't believe you have EVER refuted an argument I have made, unless it was about grammar / I was trolling the shit out of you.
List some of the arguments you've made that I haven't refuted.
Block wrote:No. It's founded. Ignorance doesn't change fact.
And Block avoids the question for the second time.
How did I misrepresent Xray's position? That's the third time I've asked you now.
Block wrote:I keep underestimating just how stupid and clueless you really are. Mockingbird, a great, underrated song...Lose Yourself, an average song.
DING DING DING. Perfect example of a straw man fallacy

thanks, Amadeo, for proving my position correct.
Block wrote:Deja vu does suck. And I never said Encore was a good album. I said there are some great songs. And I said that mockingbird is criminally underrated. It is. But, of course, your opinion is the be-all-end-all, right?
Block wrote:I've been listening 'The Eminem Show' today (specifically 'Sing for the moment') and songs like 'Mockingbird' and 'When I'm Gone'.. He had amazing emotion and passion in his music in these songs. These are the songs that I used to listen to religiously when I was a teenager and was going through alot of rough times. His emotion, combined with his choice of words and subject matter is what made me a hardcore fan of his...
Block wrote:What was also said was that the emotion of the song was great. Which it was. And in contrast to 99% of the songs on Encore, it IS good.
Ah, dug yourself a hole here, Blockhead.
If, according to you, there are "some great songs" on Encore, and Mockingbird is good in contrast to "99% of the songs on Encore" (which means it is better than 99% of the songs on Encore), then the only logical conclusion to draw is that in your opinion, Mockingbird IS a great song. Game, set and match. Owned by your own words.
I wasn't misrepresenting your position. It's clear as day to anybody that you're a big fan of Mockingbird, anyway. You've been fellating it (ah, remember that term, Block?) in other threads. All that praise about its amazing passion and emotion.
And all this to try to prove that I
have used a straw man.

Someone's grasping at "straws" (couldn't help myself).
Block wrote:It contains Eminem's raw emotion without him forcing it. Is it anger? No. Sorry, Amadeo.. I know you only like those angry songs, so that you can sit and sulk about how bad your life is outside of the interwebs, while simultaneously trying to fit your idealized 'bad boy' image that you'll never achieve, due to the fact... Well, let's be honest, one look at your posts and we can tell why
that would never happen.
Oh, I'm very glad I will never be a "bad boy." I could think of nothing more lame. You've crept into XRay territory here: just stupid attempts at personal insults that come off as ineffective.
Block wrote:Not once have I claimed to be intellectual or cultured.
By pointing out another person's lack of either trait, are you not alluding to the fact that you possess both? Tell me, how would you be able to identify whether or not a person was lacking either of these necessary attributes, if you, yourself, did not possess them? Or, at the very least,
believe that you possess them?
Shitty argument. Plenty of people can tell if someone's not a good lyricist without being good lyricists themselves.
