-Black History Month? It's to celebrate black heritage in AMerica. While slaves came from variety of places, the month doesn't really focus on their origins but their plight in America. A "White History Month" wouldn't work, because it would cover so many cultures in Europe, but I don't care, go make one. Besides, if you've ever sat in an elementary school civics class, pretty much every month is White history month, moron. There are studies that show far more attention is given to white historical figures.

Affirmative Action is tiebreaker if anything, if you have two students with identical credentials applying to the same college than the person's race is taken into consideration (black, latino, asian, women) gets the opp. Know why, because it has been shown that time after time if given the choice between a white male or any other minority (white women included) that the employers and colleges have a tendency to choose the white male. Now imagine if every tiebreaker turned into a well, "You're a white male", colleges or jobs with an already white majority would get even white and equally qualified minorities would have less of a shot.

Of course like many things AA has been stigmatized has "Ew, lazy n igger didn't earn his way here, nope can't be because of his grades at all." Yet funnily enough, a white male, made the slot, there wouldn't be any suspicions at all. Hypocrisy?

And lastly white women benefit from AA far more than any other minority, but has mistakenly been labeled as a "race" thing.

I pretty much addressed it in the quote you responded to though, being that when push comes to shove, that employers or colleges, USUALLY go for the white male when he has the same credentials as any other minority or white female, it's essentially a tiebreaker if anything.

About the story regarding your friend, that's sad to hear, but we don't know about the transcripts of all the other students accepted over him. Whether or no they had a better transcript we'll never know, are there lazy minorities that can get by on it, however, yes. But they're the exception, not the rule.

I won't deny that AA is very faulty and controversial, and don't agree 100 percent with it.

It sucks for the white shirts that didn't get picked (they represent you, if you hadn't figured that out), but they weren't discriminated against. I just wanted a wide array of shirts, any one of those white shirts could have been chosen at random. Now let's say one of those white shirts was extra durable and a higher quality.
