I found the production to be godawful, which is shocking coming after how good HHID was. I also didn't find the themes and content interesting, except for a couple songs.

Have you listened to God's Son? It's his most universally likeable album to me.

I've listened to most of it, Stillmatic, and Illmatic. It's definitely my favorite. I really like Thugz Mansion. The Cross and I Can are pretty good too.

Initial impressions are fire. This is competitive Nas. For the last few albums he's been great, but he's forgotten about the competitive nature of hip hop, that's why he's no longer king of NY, not for lack for quality music, but because he's not competing.

"Make room for the King, n1gga".

Flex also said he spoke to Nas quickly and Nas didn't want an interview because it's too soon, but revealed to Flex that he has 1 very particular surprising hip hop feature and Flex said it will blow the roof of NY hip hop.
The New York Times - "Lloyd Banks may have stealthily become the most important rapper in New York".

Same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with
Sh.., Thats' only half if they like you
That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael

This goes hard!!! I'd heard rumours that the track would feature Lil Wayne so I wasn't that fussed about it. Much, much better than I expected.

our flow cheap as limousine liquor, I aint no fake rap cd listener, sit back & roll a mean swisher for my Gs, tell these clowns to make room for the king n******

Surely the album wont feature rappers such as Wayne, Drake, Minaj and all that crap after this line. I know it is often a decision the label makes but seriously... I'm hopeful that collab Flex talked about is with Pharoahe Monch. Other than him I would like to hear Saigon, Jon Connor and another Alicia Keys collab on it. If Em can bring his best, I'd welcome him too.

Nas is too clever now to fall into the trap of Puff daddys again. I know he had Wayne on Distant Relatives but... Fucking don't about they'll be there ha ha.

Simple beat and Nas absolutely raping it. 3rd verse is nuts.

Not really surpsied though, he had so much momentum coming of Distant Relatives (sounded so hungry on it) and I know he could easily kill a track like this. No concept, just straight rapping. Love it.

1:06 - It sounds very much like the Godzilla sample Pharoahe Monch used for Simon Says.
