It's very exciting that he and the rest of Slaughterhouse are on Shady and that Em has signed MCs of this caliber, with this perspective, at this point in the game.

As time goes on, I think Em's recent words and lyrics such as "last shot, give it all you got" and "most people don't get a second chance, I ain't blowing this one!" become more true.

Really seems like he's trying to strike the balance between commercial and underground elements and take rap to a healthier place, and push it as far as he can before he's done. Between his non-stop lyricism since return (regardless of what you think of the quality of it), on Relapse and Recovery, the freestyles, now the Bad Meets Evil EP, Yela and Slaughterhouse.

Even if he's never as good as he once was or never makes music that compelling again, it seems as if the people around him and the work he does with them will make up for it.

Can't wait for the projects off Shady, can't wait for Yela especially. And I think Slaughterhouse are gonna do big things for hip-hop. All the elements are perfect for them to be artistically free and push it as far as they want ESPECIALLY given Em is their 'boss', given who he is and what he stands for, and what kind of music he does... I can't wait.

With all these guys on Shady records and the way Em, Kanye, Odd Future and every one is pushing and what people are doing lately, I honestly feel hip-hop is in an extremely healthy place and only going to get better. Feels as if we've only begun to hear glimmers of the brilliance that this new life of hip-hop is breathing, I think we're in one of the best positions we've ever been. I know the 90s was killer but, there was still a lot of repetitive 'rapperish' slang and cliche and, things are getting smarter.
