I agree it's not a masterpiece but I don't think it's as disappointing as everyone is saying. I mean what were you expecting lmao.

Only two things that let me down and ruin it for me are:
a) you don't see Sasha getting choked (so why even get her aka choke fetish porn star)
b) he puts the gun under his chin

The vividness of the suicide is awesome but, the fact the gun goes under the chin on such a clear spoken line that emphasizes 'temple' bugs the shit out of me and will every time I see it.

I don't know how any 'perfectionist' can let that slide lmao. Way too annoying.

But, I think this is still a slightly censored version as, why else would they specifically get Sasha Grey, who as a living gets violently and realistically choked... for a song where Em chokes the girl and you're supposed to see that. Makes getting her specifically arbitrary, other than the fact she's hot as fuck. But still, way too much of a convenience, to not use her properly for it.

As for the concept... I think the Em you see in the front seat and checking the phone is the real-life Em, and the rapping Em that follows them around is Em's thoughts / conscience / what he really wants to communicate / his subconscious.

So he suspects her of cheating, then kills her. Notice 'real Em' kills her and his 'thoughts' stay in the cafe. Which is probably meant to show, his mind is still focused on the phone / checking the phone / the suspicion, then you see the montage of his thoughts coming together... then he kills her.

Lmao at people saying it's about him killing his drug addict self and saying it's a metaphor for drugs etc. people just constantly want to make his concepts more complex than they are now but I've learned that he doesn't think that big now. It's quite obviously just a relationship song where he finds out his girl is cheating, so chokes her then kills himself out of guilt.
