Just listened to Will Rap For Food. It's great and I'm really curious to see how they could have possibly made a better album :o

"Will Rap For Food" is their worst album, no lie.

Still think Southernunderground is their best album - I could enjoy that at any time and it has such a great variety of styles and concepts. Most entertaining, for me.

Although to be fair, I need to listen to this a bit more, only listened through it a few times.

Oneirology > A Piece of Strange > Dirty Acres > SouthernUnderground > Will Rap For Food > Strange Journey Vol. 1 > Strange Journey Vol. 2

And yes, I did say DA > SU. I don't know if that's popular consensus or not but everybody mad anyway.

Strange Journey Volume 1 & 2 are mixtapes, not albums.

Well duh? I'm sorry, the Vol. _ part didn't give that away already. Anyways, they're extremely enjoyable compared to what I heard from Sloppy Seconds though, they might as well be albums.

The only problem I've ever had with Cunninlynguists was their delivery.

They still don't count.

And I like their delivery. :)

They don't count as what? I didn't even reference them as albums, I didn't even say "These are my rankings of their albums from greatest to least", I just did a (>)-ranking of what I've heard in full from them and apparently you've misconstrued that, Thomas. Maybe I should teach you how thick wood feels if you're going to conspire against me like this.

and it's too southern and the monotone shows ALOT on some beats, especially on Oneirology. The production on that album is just too ear-sex to not be my favorite though.

I would never conspire against you, my dear Satire. I'm simply implying that they do not fit into your ranking because they are not albums, and this thread is dedicated to an ALBUM.

Imagine person A made a thread stating MMLP is the pinnacle of hip-hop, and person B posted this:

MMLP > SSLP > TES > Relapse > Recovery > Anger Management 3 > Encore > Infinite

Makes no sense, does it?

That's still personal preference, and differs from person to person.
I, for example, don't find them (or Nas for that matter) monotone.
But I'd still rather hear that same, southern voice all the time than a up-n-down Common "Can I Borrow A Dollar?" voice.

How do they not fit with my rankings when I'm the one who initiated this "ranking" chain? I'm pretty sure I'm the one who makes decisions as to what my statements pertain to, right? And yes, the "pinnacle of hip-hop" is dedicated to an album, but that album also has to be a link in the chain of Cunninlynguists many dope releases that I've heard in full, which is what I was making my rankings on.

MMLP > SSLP > TES > Relapse > Recovery > Anger Management 3 > Encore > Infinite

The difference is the Strange Vol. series is alot more popular amongst Cunninlynguist fans and is frequently mentioned in alot of their "What Cunninlynguist projects ____" discussions while a large percentage of Stans aren't even aware that Anger Management 3 exists, Anger Management 3 is "presented" by Em but a majority of the tracks don't pertain to him at all, and I can actually see someone liking Strange Vol. more than some of their other actual albums, unlike AM3. So no, it is hardly "like" that.

That's still personal preference, and differs from person to person

Again, duh. Almost everything in music is personal preference. diction likes fucking Noise music for some reason and some people like Drake, but even if I can't change their mind using facts as hard as my cock right now, I would still state my opinion on why I think those things are awful. This is why I said that is the only problem I've ever had with the Cunninlynguists.

So far, SouthernUnderground = Will Rap For Food > A Piece of Strange

Maybe it's still too early for me to be making comparisons...

@Thomas I still love you ya know. I hope this doesn't make looking at each other really awkward when we're at the dinner table every night , I still want to see that pretty face of yours.

Maybe you just prefer that style? It happens with Cunninlynguists fans. There's no technical best (except maybe the polishing of Kno's production skill) because they're extremely consistent, but their fanbases are split all over the place on what's the "best". When I read Yahoo answers some hipsters like to say they fell off after SU, and people like this guy think they would be going the wrong direction to continue the SouthernUnderground style.

I just finished listening to all of their official albums, and they're all really good. The first albums are just my shit! I don't mind that they changed directions though. It's something every artist must do eventually. It's amazing how they've managed to stay so dope; all albums have their gems. I can't believe anyone can say they fell off smh. For now,

SouthernUnderground = Will Rap For Food > Oneirology = A Piece of Strange > Dirty Acres

Kno's production is some of the best I've ever heard, from Will Rap For Food to Oneirology :worship:
